More importantly, the CDK4/6 inhibitor palbociclib, as a member of the first and only class of highly specific CDK inhibitors approved for cancer treatment to date, showed significant synergistic effects with ABZ treatment in melanoma cells and mouse models. Taken together, we revealed a previously unappreciated function of ABZ in antimelanoma proliferation by inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis and provided a novel combined therapeutic regimen of ABZ plus CDK4/6 inhibitor treatment in melanoma.

Based on the results of the questionnaire survey and GIN resistance test, we found several reasons for the anthelmintic resistance of GINs, consequently providing new ideas for controlling the occurrence of anthelmintic resistance. Oral albendazole was given 10 mg/kg/day (in two divided doses) for 4 weeks preoperatively and for three cycles of 4 weeks at 1-week intervals after surgery in all patients...In the treatment of renal hydatid cysts, laparoscopy, which is a minimally invasive approach, can be technically applied with the same principles as open surgery and has a similar efficacy and safety profile for short- and long-term results.

In one patient with a history of multiple treatments with albendazole and with a CE4 cyst at the start of pregnancy, reactivation of the cyst during pregnancy was observed...In our experience, "watch and wait" in pregnant women with uncomplicated transitional and inactive CE of the liver was a safe option in a small cohort of patients. Pooled data from other referral centers, including cases with CE1 and CE2 cysts, are needed to confirm the safety of this approach.

Reflecting on the experience of the JE vaccination program helped to inform the introduction of the triple-drug therapy of ivermectin, diethylcarbamazine, and albendazole in India as a new treatment protocol for lymphatic filariasis.

Lessons from this experience highlight five key elements for moving from WHO recommendations to program uptake after the publication of the guideline: 1) early engagement with stakeholders to create partnerships to coordinate and plan for implementation; 2) recognition by countries and partners of the potential of IDA to improve efforts to eliminate LF; 3) high-level commitment and coordination at regional levels and, most importantly, at the country level; 4) understanding of the perspectives among people living in LF-endemic communities where mass drug administration is warranted; and 5) affirmation of the feasibility of IDA through sharing lessons learned.

A total of 132 plasma samples obtained before and one year after DEC-albendazole administration, which have been previously tested with BR and FTS, were examined for IgG4 against Bm14 using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay...The lowest decrease of Bm14-specific IgG4 positivity at one year after treatment was shown in the double positive group (3.1%), while the highest was in the double negative group (18.7%). The measurement of IgG4 against Bm14 has the potential as a sensitive diagnostic tool to evaluate the success of MDA in the areas co-endemic for B. timori and W. bancrofti.
