    However, compared to in vitro assay, the drugs tested took longer to show their protoscolicidal effect. Based on the obtained results, ZnNPs particularly in combination with albendazole displayed the potent protoscolicidal in vitro and ex vivo as an intraperitoneal model of administration of agents to hydatid cyst treatment; nevertheless, additional investigations are mandatory to evaluate the efficacy and safety Zn NPs as a favorable protoscolicidal agent in clinical setting.

Our findings revealed a previously unappreciated role of ABZ in antitumor immunity by inducing ubiquitin-mediated PD-L1 protein degradation, identified predictors for assessing the therapeutic efficacy of anti-PD-1 therapy, and provided novel therapeutic possibility by combination treatment of ABZ and CD73 blockade in cancers.

    Current treatment recommendations by the WHO include mass drug administration with ivermectin for the treatment of onchocerciasis and a combination of ivermectin, albendazole and diethylcarbamazine (DEC) for the treatment of lymphatic filariasis in areas that are not co-endemic for onchocerciasis or loiasis...Thus, to achieve the elimination of transmission of onchocerciasis and the elimination of lymphatic filariasis as a public health problem by 2030, the WHO defined in its roadmap that new alternative treatment strategies with macrofilaricidal compounds are required. Within a collaboration of the non-profit organizations Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and partners from academia and industry, several new promising macrofilaricidal drug candidates were identified, which will be discussed in this review.

    In the tested group of rhodanine derivatives, only compound 2 shows very high biological activity (LC = 0.93 µg/µL), which is higher than the reference drug albendazole (LC = 19.24 µg/µL)...Molecular modelling and selected physicochemical properties prediction were performed to assess the potential mechanism of action and applied in the search for an explanation as to why amongst all similar compounds only one is active. We can conclude that the tested compound 2 can be further investigated as a potential anthelmintic drug.
