Clinical, Pricing: Agree, that was my reaction. The difference is probably cost. Average US cost of 30 days of 3 mg budesonide (not 9 mg) is about $600. I’ve rarely seen budesonide cause long-term remission. Those 2 facts are my main deterrent for up-front therapy. (Twitter) - Aug 22, 2020

Clinical: The other point is, if bismuth fails, budesonide often can work, but those patients are very often relapse anyway and stay on budesonide long-term.
