    Anxiety, dizziness, depression, and agitation are the most common psychiatric side effects that have been reported with LEV use. More data are warranted to assess the need of therapy discontinuation or continuation given the fact that most common ADE may not seem to indicate the need for LEV discontinuation.

    Mefloquine and cidofovir were considered, but the patient chose not to commence on them...In conclusion, we advise that these stroke-like symptoms may necessitate comprehensive investigation beyond initial CT scans, as exemplified by this case of PML. Relying solely on radiological findings may overlook rare conditions, and clinical skills such as a good history and examination should still be prioritised.

    The second cocktail - a combination of LEV, ATV, and ceftriaxone, termed "TC-002" - completely prevented epilepsy in the mouse IHK model...Plasma and brain drug analysis showed that these effects of TC-002 occurred at clinically relevant levels of the individual TC-002 drug components. In silico analysis of drug-drug brain protein interactions by the STITCH database indicated that TC-002 impacts a larger functional network of epilepsy-relevant brain proteins than each drug alone, providing a potential network pharmacology explanation for the observed antiepileptogenic and neuroprotective effects observed with this combination.

    This multicenter, survey study, identified variances in practice for PTS prophylaxis for brain injured patients throughout the U.S. Interestingly, the overwhelming majority of trauma centers do not conform to the Brain Trauma Foundation guidelines and utilize LEV as their agent of choice. Further studies should evaluate ideal patient selection for PTS prophylaxis, optimal agent, and dosing schemes within this cohort.

    Among patients with seizures, Levetiracetam was the most commonly prescribed ASM (n=15, 88%)...Conclusion Patients with neuroinfectious diseases, particularly those with viral encephalitis and cortical involvement, may be at an increased risk of developing seizures. Larger prospective studies are needed to validate our results and determine if seizures worsen outcomes .

    Results Patients had hemorrhagic contusional injury in all cases, and were treated with levetiracetam in all cases...Exploration of early on the role of continuous EEG findings, relative brain edema, and CSF obstruction on glymphatic function are being analyzed at this time of this abstract submission. Conclusion This study suggests that early post-traumatic dysfunction of the glymphatic systems may be a factor in epileptogenesis after TBI.

    Flunarizine (RoM, 0.46; 95% CI, 0.26-0.81), levetiracetam (RoM, 0.47; 95% CI, 0.30-0.72), riboflavin (RoM, 0.50; 95% CI, 0.32-0.77), cinnarizine (RoM, 0.64; 95% CI, 0.46-0.88), topiramate (RoM, 0.70; 95% CI, 0.55-0.89), and amitriptyline (RoM, 0.73; 95% CI, 0.54-0.97) were also associated with reduction in migraine frequency, but these findings were drawn from individual studies...Compared with placebo, propranolol and cinnarizine (RoM, 0.45; 95% CI, 0.28-0.72), pregabalin (RoM, 0.57; 95% CI, 0.33-0.96), valproate (RoM, 0.60; 95% CI, 0.49-0.72), levetiracetam (RoM, 0.62; 95% CI, 0.50-0.77), and cinnarizine (RoM, 0.64; 95% CI, 0.54-0.76) were significantly associated with reduction in headache intensity...None of the drugs were associated with improved quality of life or attack duration, underscoring the need for further research to develop more comprehensive treatment strategies and explore the potential of combination therapies, especially those involving vitamins. Future studies should focus on validating these findings and expanding the treatment landscape for pediatric migraine management.

    Here, we characterized hyperexcitability and neurodegeneration in the hippocampus of doxycycline-regulatable rNLS8 mice (NEFH-tTA x tetO-hTDP-43?NLS), followed by treatment with AAV encoded DREADDs and anti-seizure medications to measure the effect on behavioral function and neurodegeneration...Therapeutic doses of the anti-seizure medications, valproic acid and levetiracetam, did not improve behavior or prevent neurodegeneration...Suppressing hyperexcitability with chemogenetics improved behavioral function but did not reduce hippocampal neuron loss. Anti-seizure medications had no beneficial effects suggesting directly targeting hyperexcitability may not be therapeutically effective.

    Here, we describe the case of a newborn presenting with seizures from the first hours of life, who was resistant to standard antiepileptic drugs and was found to be a biallelic compound heterozygote of two clearly pathogenic variants in the ALDH7A1 gene based on targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS). The diagnostic process of PDE-ALDH7A1 was limited by the possibility to determine only urinary PA and 6-oxo-PIP (urinary organic acid profile using the GC-MS method), and the exogenous peak of levetiracetam, due to the fact that it has a similar retention time as 6-oxo-PIP, masked the detection of 6-oxo-PIP.
