We can conclude that caffeine has both antiinflammatory and antiinfective properties that can be useful for management of bacterial infections along with antibiotics.

The effect of static progressive stretching in the rehabilitation process of knee contractures caused by arthrofibrosis is greatly improved after the utilization of ultraphonophoresis with highly concentrated hydrocortisone alongside standard home exercise programs and this effect is especially apparent in the cases of patients with type III arthrofibrosis and knee flexion contractures.

    Using paired case series design and sterile technique, 25 consecutive OA digital joints with an adjacent mucoid cyst underwent dorsal non-transtendinous intraarticular injection with a 25-gauge needle and 20-mg triamcinolone acetonide, followed by puncture and manual expression of cyst fluid...No complications were noted. Intraarticular corticosteroid injection using a dorsal non-transtendinous approach of the joint adjacent to a mucoid cyst is effective resolving cysts and reducing pain at 6 months; however, 60% of mucoid cysts reoccur within 3 years and may require reinjection or surgery.Trial registration: This was not a clinical trial.

    Across January 2010-December 2017, patients aged ≥50 years with a prescription of intravitreal anti-VEGFs were included as "wAMD" patients [by wAMD hospitalization or intravitreal injections] or as "other ocular diseases" patients [by hospitalization for other ocular disorders or intravitreal injections, with concomitant diabetes diagnosis or dexamethasone treatment]...Overall, 3879 patients were included; at index-date, 82.2% were treated with Ranibizumab, 15.8% with Aflibercept, and 2% with Pegaptanib...During the follow-up, the mean/annual anti-VEGF prescription [3.3 (first-year)-0.5 (third-year)] and the total cost [7196.83 € (first-year)-5162.68 € (third-year)] decreased. This observational study highlighted a decline in anti-VEGF prescriptions over time in both cohorts, suggesting a trend of under-treatment that could worsen the patients' clinical outcomes and increase health care resource consumption.

    Our results supported the addition of perioperative intravenous dexamethasone to multimodal analgesia in total knee arthroplasty to reduce postoperative pain, opioids consumption, and length of hospital stay. Current evidence did not support the superiority of repeated-dose dexamethasone over single-dose dexamethasone; thus, we recommended perioperative 8-10 mg intravenous dexamethasone to be used based on adequate basic analgesia; however, the results may have been affected by small sample sizes and heterogeneity.

    The results indicate that the effect of dexamethasone on MMP-13 expression in chondrocytes was mediated by an MKP-1 and p38 MAP kinase-dependent manner. Dex showed antifungal activity against FLC-resistant C. albicans strains.
