  • ||||||||||  Stellate Ganglion Block Significantly Improved Fatigue in Idiopathic Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (Exhibit Hall) -  Aug 6, 2024 - Abstract #ASA2024ASA_5862;
    (Image 1) A multimodal regimen, including extensive physical therapy, gabapentin, pregabalin, and muscle relaxants improved his leg pain but not fatigue. Following an ultrasound-guided unilateral right-sided stellate ganglion block using 14mg ropivacaine, 10mg dexamethasone PF, and 8mcg dexmedetomidine, both a 60% decrease in the patient's Chalder Fatigue Scale score and a decrease in functional disability inventory score were achieved with high patient satisfaction, allowing a return to school full-time.

Under fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance, a manubrial-sternal joint injection (dexamethasone and bupivacaine) was performed, successfully resolving pain and making corticosteroid injection a viable therapeutic alternative for refractory Tietze Syndrome.

    Treatment at a pain clinic with oxycodone, pregabalin, acetaminophen, and tapentadol proves insufficient...An infraorbital nerve block was planned, administering a mixture of dexamethasone and 0.5% bupivacaine...Investigation reveals inadvertent infusion of lidocaine at high concentration, prompting concern for local anesthetic systemic toxicity (LAST). Oxygen and lipid emulsion therapy are initiated before ICU transfer.
