  • ||||||||||  Journal:  The Role of Methylation Analysis in Distinguishing Cellular Myxoma from Low-Grade Myxofibrosarcoma. (Pubmed Central) -  May 25, 2024
The DKFZ sarcoma classifier only provided a valid prediction for one myxofibrosarcoma case; this limitation could be improved by training the tool with a more considerable number of cases. Additionally, the classifier should be introduced to a broader spectrum of mesenchymal neoplasms, including benign tumors like cellular myxoma, whose distinct methylation pattern we demonstrated.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Palliative Care Needs of Patients with Musculoskeletal Malignancies. (Pubmed Central) -  May 25, 2024
The unique impacts of musculoskeletal malignancies on ambulation and independence creates additional mental and physical burdens on patients and care-takers alike. Palliative care should focus on preserving ambulatory function and patient independence, in addition to managing chronic pain and other end-of-life symptoms common to these malignancies.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Enhanced accuracy and reduced delay in diagnosing bone tumors within an expert sarcoma network: A nationwide study. (Pubmed Central) -  May 25, 2024
Early management within the expert network significantly reduced major diagnostic discrepancies and shortened the diagnosis delay by approximately a month. Expert pathologist systematic re-readings were responsible for diagnosis readjustments in three-quarters of cases, with two-thirds of all diagnostic variations occurring preoperatively, thereby mitigating the consequences of mistreatment.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Ewing Sarcoma Related protein 1 recognizes R-loops by binding DNA forks. (Pubmed Central) -  May 25, 2024
Our data suggests that the Zinc-finger domain (ZnF) with flanking arginine and glycine rich (RGG) domains provide high affinity binding, while the RNA recognition motif (RRM) with its RGG domains offer improved specificity. This model offers a rational for EWSR1 specificity to encompass a wide range in contexts due to the DNA forks always found with R-loops.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Sarcomatoid renal pelvis carcinoma: Experience of treatment at a single-institution. (Pubmed Central) -  May 25, 2024
This model offers a rational for EWSR1 specificity to encompass a wide range in contexts due to the DNA forks always found with R-loops. The prognosis of SRPC is poor, and the clinical stage, particularly the presence of distant metastasis, has a significant impact on prognosis.
  • ||||||||||  Trial completion date, Trial initiation date:  Tailoring Therapy in Post-surgical Patients With Low-risk Endometrial Cancer (clinicaltrials.gov) -  May 24, 2024
    P2,  N=325, Suspended,
The prognosis of SRPC is poor, and the clinical stage, particularly the presence of distant metastasis, has a significant impact on prognosis. Trial completion date: Jan 2025 --> Jan 2027 | Initiation date: Apr 2024 --> Jan 2025
  • ||||||||||  Tevimbra (tislelizumab) / BeiGene
Journal, PD(L)-1 Biomarker, IO biomarker:  Tislelizumab combined with GT chemotherapy for intimal sarcoma of inferior vena cava: A case report. (Pubmed Central) -  May 24, 2024
Given the lack of characteristic clinical manifestations in patients with intimal sarcoma of IVC, imaging examination combined with immunohistochemical index were helpful for diagnosis of intimal sarcoma of IVC. Furthermore, the combination of tislelizumab and GT chemotherapy was feasible in such patients with positive PD-L1 expression and TP53 mutation.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Molecular mechanisms of human papilloma virus related skin cancers: A review. (Pubmed Central) -  May 24, 2024
However, recent epidemiological investigations have highlighted that HPV could also trigger the onset of other non-melanocytic, for example, basal cell carcinoma (BCC), and/or melanocytic skin cancers, for example, melanoma. Herein, we provide an overview of the role played by HPV in benign and malignant skin lesions with a particular focus on the main epidemiological, pathophysiological, and molecular aspects delineating the involvement of HPV in skin cancers.
  • ||||||||||  Retrospective data, Journal:  Retrospective Study of Clinicopathological Changes and Prediction Model for Canine Vascular Neoplasms. (Pubmed Central) -  May 24, 2024
The odds of HSA diagnosis were 42.5 times higher in anemic dogs, 343 times higher in lymphopenic dogs and 92.7 times higher in dogs with hyperfibrinogenemia compared to dogs without the abnormalities. The study suggested that these identified abnormalities were nonspecific and commonly observed in various chronic diseases, and hence their combination with clinical information, such as diagnostic imaging and histopathology, is important to facilitate a more precise diagnosis of canine vascular neoplasms.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Imaging-Based Deep Learning for Predicting Desmoid Tumor Progression. (Pubmed Central) -  May 24, 2024
We believe that these findings could contribute to the elucidation of the pathophysiology of STS and the development of further metabolic studies in this rare malignancy. The model was able to independently predict clinical progression as measured from the baseline MRI with an overall accuracy of 93% (93
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Novel Insights into the Links between N6-Methyladenosine and Regulated Cell Death in Musculoskeletal Diseases. (Pubmed Central) -  May 24, 2024
In addition, we also discuss recent advances in the control of RCD by m6A-targeted factors and explore the clinical application prospects of therapies targeting the m6A-RCD in MSD prevention and treatment. These may provide new ideas and directions for understanding the pathophysiological mechanism of MSDs and the clinical prevention and treatment of these diseases.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  The Biological Impact of Some Phosphonic and Phosphinic Acid Derivatives on Human Osteosarcoma. (Pubmed Central) -  May 24, 2024
Moreover, in terms of anti-osteosarcoma activity, 2-carboxyethylphenylphosphinic acid expressed promising activity on SAOS-2 monolayers, the cells showing viability of only 55%, as well as apoptosis features and important gene expression modulation, especially Bid downregulation. Therefore, the newly developed compound should be considered a promising candidate for further in vitro and in vivo research related to osteosarcoma therapy.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Stemness and Cell Cycle Regulators and Their Modulation by Retinoic Acid in Ewing Sarcoma. (Pubmed Central) -  May 24, 2024
Low expression of CD99 and NES, and high expression of SOX2, were significantly associated with a poorer patient prognosis indicated by shorter overall survival (OS). Our results indicate that RA may display rather complex modulatory effects on multiple target genes associated with the maintenance of stem cell's features versus their differentiation, cell cycle regulation, and patient prognosis in ES.
