  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Local recurrence rates of superficial versus deep soft tissue sarcoma. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 8, 2024
    In this series, superficial tumor depth was associated with local recurrence of soft tissue sarcomas of the extremity following surgical resection. Positive surgical margins was also associated with local recurrence.
  • ||||||||||  cyclosporin A microemulsion / Generic mfg.
    Preclinical, Journal:  Establishment of orthotopic osteosarcoma animal models in immunocompetent rats through muti-rounds of in-vivo selection. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 8, 2024
    The tumor fragments were transplanted into the marrow cavities of SD rats immunosuppressed with cyclosporine A. Through muti-rounds selection in SD rats, we constructed orthotopic osteosarcoma animal models using rats with intact immune systems...Moreover, the orthotopic model was also established in New Zealand white rabbits by implanting VX2 tumor fragments into rabbit radii and femurs. We constructed orthotopic osteosarcoma animal models in rats with intact immune systems through muti-rounds in-vivo selection and the rabbit osteosarcoma model.
  • ||||||||||  Biomarker, Journal:  P16 and HPV status in head and neck sarcomas and sarcomatoid carcinomas. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 8, 2024
    The results confirm that p16 staining is not specific and may not be associated with HPV infection in non-oropharyngeal head and neck sites. They also indicate that non-oropharyngeal head and neck sarcomatoid carcinomas are not likely to be HPV related.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  What About Variant Histologies in Bladder Cancer? (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 8, 2024
    PATIENT SUMMARY: In this paper we summarize key points for the management of uncommon bladder cancer types. We highlight the importance of correct diagnosis of these tumours for selection of the most suitable treatment.
  • ||||||||||  Thymoglobulin (anti-thymocyte globulin (rabbit)) / Sanofi
    Extra Medullary Haematopoiesis in renal allograft nephrectomy specimens. (ATRIUM) -  Jun 8, 2024 - Abstract #UKKW2024UKKW_600;
    Post-transplant course was complicated by delayed graft function and an early mixed rejection (treated with steroids and Rituximab) followed by late chronic antibody mediated rejection (ABMR)...She had several rejection episodes treated with IV methylprednisolone, PEX and IV Immunoglobulins (IVIg)...Clinically renal EMH can be asymptomatic but can present with mass effect or organomegaly. Treatment of symptomatic cases should focus on management of the driving disease process, excision and targeted radiotherapy.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Imaging findings of Epstein-Barr Virus-positive inflammatory follicular dendritic cell sarcoma of spleen: A case report. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 7, 2024
    Imaging features of EBV-positive inflammatory FDCS in the spleen include a high incidence of hemorrhage and necrosis, persistent moderate enhancement of the solid portion, a "capsular-like enhancement" structure at the tumor edge, and possibly active glucose metabolism with high Standardized Uptake Values (SUVs). COVID-19 infection and long-term COVID-19 sequelae may exacerbate and activate EBV-positive inflammatory FDCS in the spleen, and the mechanism remains to be further studied.
  • ||||||||||  Biomarker, Journal, Stroma:  Gastric Leiomyosarcoma in Post-Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor Era: Revisit. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 7, 2024
    56% of patients are alive, with 5 patients dying from this disease. Statistical analyses conducted on post-GIST era cases reveal that a mitotic index of ?100/50 high power field, tumor recurrence, metastasis, or positive lymph nodes significantly correlate with prognosis.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Characteristics of radiation-induced brain tumors: case series and systematic review. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 7, 2024
    The prognosis was poor and worse for patients with RIGs and RISs than for those with RIMs, and patients with RIBTs who underwent higher-dose irradiation for primary disease had poor prognoses. Because RIBTs develop more than a decade after cranial irradiation, long-term follow-up is crucial.
  • ||||||||||  paclitaxel / Generic mfg.
    Journal:  Covalent Organic Frameworks as Potential Drug Carriers and Chemotherapeutic Agents for Ovarian Cancers. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 7, 2024
    Among these, paclitaxel loaded in COF-3 was most effective against the proliferation of ovarian cancer cells...Due to their biocompatibility, these porous COFs provide a viable substrate for controlled drug release, making them attractive candidates for improving drug delivery systems. This work also demonstrates the potential of COFs as efficient drug delivery agents, thereby opening up new opportunities in the field of sarcoma therapy.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Pictorial review of multiparametric MRI in bladder urothelial carcinoma with variant histology: pearls and pitfalls. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 7, 2024
    This review highlights the potential value of mpMRI for different variant UCs and explores the clinical implications and prospects of VI-RADS in managing these patients, emphasizing the need for careful interpretation of mpMRI examinations including DCE-MRI, particularly given the heterogeneity and aggressive nature of variant UCs. Additionally, the review addresses the fundamental MRI reading procedures, discusses potential causes of diagnostic errors, and considers future directions in the use of artificial intelligence
  • ||||||||||  Krazati (adagrasib) / BMS, Lumakras (sotorasib) / Amgen
    Review, Journal, Metastases:  Resistance to KRAS inhibition in advanced non-small cell lung cancer. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 7, 2024
    Currently, there are only two approved targeted therapies (adagrasib and sotorasib) for advanced or metastatic KRAS-mutated NSCLC from the second-line setting onwards. In this narrative review, we will focus on KRAS, its molecular basis, the role of its co-mutations, clinical evidence for its inhibition, putative mutation to resistance, and future strategies to overcome resistance to KRAS inhibition.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Infantile Hemangioma Mimics Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 7, 2024
    This report highlights key clinical findings of infantile hemangiomas, while also identifying "red flags" that necessitate urgent additional investigations and referral to a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, key features in the management of both infantile hemangiomas and extremity masses are discussed.
  • ||||||||||  Journal, Stroma:  Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumour of the Appendix: A Very Rare Entity. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 7, 2024
    This paper highlights the rarity of these tumours and presents another case which correlates well with the existing but limited literature. There is a need to maintain a registry of this rare disease entity with the maintenance of longer-term follow-up data.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  RASopathies: Evolving Concepts in Pathogenetics, Clinical Features, and Management. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 7, 2024
