Quadratus lumborum block was more effective than caudal block in terms of duration of postoperative analgesia and postoperative analgesic consumption. The administration of an ilioinguinal-iliohypogastric nerve block prior to primary inguinal hernia repair using a Shouldice Repair is associated with a significantly lower intraoperative fentanyl consumption compared to non-administration.

This non-inferiority study revealed that in elderly outpatients undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopy, remimazolam achieved recovery times comparable to propofol, with fewer associated complications.
