Among the methods found in the literature, SBC was the only assay providing accurate determinations of TFC.

    Current study evaluates the beneficial role of bio-functionalized zinc ferrite nanoparticles fabricated from an aqueous extract of Decalepis hamiltonii leaves (DHLE.ZnFe2O4 NPs) on sodium nitrite (NaNO2) and Diclofenac (DFC) induced oxidative stress in RBCs and Sprague Dawley male rat models...Most importantly, DHLE.ZnFe2O4 NPs exhibited anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-thrombotic activities and were non-toxic to RBCs. In conclusion, DHLE.ZnFe2O4 NPs through its anti-oxidant potential ameliorate oxidative stress induced pathogenesis such as, inflammation, tissue damage, diabetes and thrombosis.

    This study investigated the effect of using celery powder (CP) as source of pre-converted nitrite (treatments: A: 150 mg/kg NaNO2, B: 100 mg/kg NaNO2 + CP as 50 mg/kg NaNO2 equivalent, C: 50 mg/kg NaNO2 + CP as 100 mg/kg NaNO2 equivalent, D: CP as 150 mg/kg NaNO2 equivalent) on the physicochemical and microbiological properties in heat-treated sucuk (HTS), a kind of semi-dry fermented sausage...CP did not affect both N-nitrosodimethylamine and N-nitrosodiethylamine, but their levels increased as the CT increased. Increased CT also resulted in increased N-nitrosopiperidine (NPIP) in all treatments, but the cooking for 1 min did not cause a significant increase in treatments A, B, and C. CP leads to a significant increase in NPIP content, especially after 3 and 5 min of cooking in HTS.

    This research investigates the interaction and morphology of thermoplastic cassava starch (TPS) blended with tetrasodium pyrophosphate (Na4P2O7), sodium tripolyphosphate (Na5P3O10), sodium hexametaphosphate (Na6(PO3)6), sodium erythorbate (C6H7O6Na), and sodium nitrite (NaNO2) via twin-screw extrusion...These modified starch materials exhibited enhanced antimicrobial properties against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus in polyester blends fabricated via extrusion, with nitrite demonstrating the most potent antimicrobial efficacy. These findings suggest that starch modification via either phosphorylation or acid hydrolysis impacts the thermal properties, morphology, and hydrophilicity of extruded cassava TPS.

    In this method, NaNO2 solution is used to react with O22- to efficiently regenerate the inactivated MnOx catalysts, while NO2- is oxidized to NO3-, and then the oxidized NO3- can be efficiently reduced to NO2- through the electrolysis process at the cathode with an 88% Faraday efficiency, ultimately realizing the recycling of the NO2-/NO3- regeneration solution. By this method, the regeneration of inactivated MnOx ozone catalysts can be realized only using electricity.

We expect the methodology developed here to provide a path forward for understanding materials in which static EFG calculations do not align with experiments.

    This study investigated the neuroprotective effect and its mechanisms of pongamol in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced BV2 cells, d-galactose/sodium nitrite/aluminum chloride (d-gal/NaNO2/AlCl3)-induced AD mice, and Caenorhabditis elegans models...In addition, pongamol reversed the nuclear transfer of NF-?B and increased the levels of Beclin 1 and LC3 II/LC3 I. Most importantly, the anti-inflammatory and promoter autophagy effects of pongamol may be related to the regulation of the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway. In summary, these results showed that pongamol has a potential neuroprotective effect, which greatly enriched the research on the pharmacological activity of pongamol for improving AD.

    Overall, our findings indicated that MC-LR and NaNO2 can cause abnormal liver lipid metabolism, and the combined effects were observed after MC-LR and NaNO2 co-exposure. The Nrf2/HO-1 signal pathway may be a potential target for prevention and control of liver toxicity caused by MC-LR and NaNO2.
