We conclude that ebselen does not potentiate pilocarpine-induced seizures and instead, reduces pilocarpine-mediated neural activation. This lack of potentiation of muscarinic sensitization may be one reason for the lack of side-effects observed with ebselen treatment clinically.

Understanding of the discovered reaction pathway can also be essential for reactions in liquid electrolytes, although the low electric conductivity of the SEI makes it less probable.

In the present work, we present evidence that low-dose lithium can reduce the SASP of human iPSCs-derived astrocytes following acute treatment, suggesting that microdose lithium could protect cells from senescence and development of aging-related conditions. With the present findings, a perspective of the potential use of low-dose lithium in old patients from the "high risk group" for COVID-19 (with hypertension, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is presented.

In conclusion, we propose GSK-3 as a promising drug target for vascular dementia in light of experimental results and in-silico predictions.

Our studies would promote the understanding of electrochemical processes and shed more light on the design and optimization cathode catalysts for Li-CO2 batteries.
