Cefepime/zidebactam provided potent in vitro results against KPC-Kp due to bla KPC variants, supporting its clinical utility for the treatment of infections due to ceftazidime/avibactam-resistant strains. Also, we demonstrated that zidebactam was not influenced by different bla KPC variants.

Also, we demonstrated that zidebactam was not influenced by different bla KPC variants. These results demonstrate that cefepime/zidebactam exhibited potent in vitro antibacterial activity against CRAB producing OXA carbapenemase and support its clinical use against both sulbactam/durlobactam-susceptible or -resistant isolates.

Cefepime-taniborbactam may be use against KPC and VIM producers and could represent a second-line option for NDM. Cefepime-zidebactam shows the most promising activity against MBLs, although already emerging resistance calls for caution.

Serial clinical isolates recovered from biliary fluid and ascitic fluid were tested for susceptibility to cefiderocol, aztreonam-avibactam, cefepime-taniborbactam, cefepime-zidebactam, and cefiderocol-xeruborbactam by broth microdilution...The patient was treated with a regimen of cefiderocol and eravacycline, with persistent fever and development of hepatic microabscesses on imaging...Antimicrobial therapy with cefepime-zidebactam along with source control allowed successful liver transplantation in a patient with cefiderocol-resistant K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa. Cefepime-zidebactam may be a therapeutic option for extensively drug-resistant Gram-negative organisms.
