    Journal:  API-Polymer Interactions in Sepineo P600 based Topical Gel Formulation- Impact on Rheology. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 8, 2022
    Lidocaine, a free base drug (pK 7.92) was used as a model drug in all formulations...This study provides valuable insights into rheological behaviors of Sepineo P600 gel and emulgel which can be modified or tuned though the interplay of the API properties and critical formulation parameters such as pH. The tunable rheological properties with simpler manufacturing process make Sepineo P600 gel and emulsion gel very suitable systems for use in semisolid topical formulations.
  • ||||||||||  Provoked Vestibulodynia: epidemiology, consensus for first-line and second-line treatments (Auditorium) -  Jun 3, 2022 - Abstract #ESCRH2022ESCRH_45;
    It affects women of all ages with a peak frequency between 20 and 29 years (29%) - the prevalence can be estimated between 10 and 16% of women Consensus for first-line treatment : 1 / Treatment of local hyperalgesia of the vulvar vestibule by bi-daily application in the long term, of local anesthetics (Lidocaine 2 -10%)...Possible combination with the use of a pelvic sensitization treatment: Amitriptyline first-line, then Pregabalin or Gabapentin in case of comorbidities...In the event of failure of the first-line therapeutic protocol, numerous therapeutic options have been described, without being able to confirm their true interest and their precise indication, in the light of the results reported in the literature. Here we report these techniques, which are currently being validated when they are indicated and remain in the domain of centers of expertise: - Vaginal vestibular infiltrations - Other topicals in the treatment of hyperalgesia of the vulvar vestibule - Botulinum toxin injections - TENS devices - CO2 Laser - Therapies and phototherapies by LED lamps - Lipofilling - Infiltration of the impar ganglion - Surgical Vestibulectomy: represents, among the therapeutic options that we have placed in the second line, the technique which benefits from the greatest number of publications in the literature and since the greatest number of years, with a grade B of levels of proof and incontestably a large number of healings As a result, vestibulectomy appears to be widely used by centers of expertise, particularly in North America

    Journal:  Understanding the Pro-Apoptotic Mechanisms of Bitter Local Anesthetics in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma. (Pubmed Central) -  May 14, 2022
    This was distinct from the structurally-related T2R agonist denatonium, which activates calcium responses inhibited by G inhibitor YM-254890 but not pertussis toxin...Lidocaine or other T2R agonists may aid in eradication of residual cancer cells and extend time between initial surgery and reoccurrence/metastasis as an alternative or complementary therapy. With their promising effects on oral and oropharyngeal SCC cells and accessibility of the oral cavity to topically applied lidocaine gels, further work is warranted to understand the effects of bitter local anesthetics and T2R signaling in HNSCC and normal surrounding epithelia.

    Journal:  Lidocaine-Loaded Hyaluronic Acid Adhesive Microneedle Patch for Oral Mucosal Topical Anesthesia. (Pubmed Central) -  Apr 24, 2022
    In the tail flick test, the topical anesthesia efficacy of the Li-HAMNs group was much better than clinical lidocaine cream (EMLA cream, LDC, 1.2 mg) in spite of a relatively lower LDC dose with Li-HAMNs (LDC, 0.5 mg). It is believed that the proposed adhesive microneedle patch could enhance transmucosal delivery of anesthetics and thus open a new chapter in the painless treatment of oral diseases.
