The detection of CSF-detected NIF-IgG antibodies in this patient suggests an overlap between the two most common causes of opsoclonus: parainfectious and autoimmune encephalitis. The anti NIF antibodies support cerebellar (vermal) dysfunction as a mechanism for opsoclonus-myoclonus ataxia and also provide a hypothesis for co-existent saccadic hypometria and opsoclonus, as the vermis plays a role in both initiation and termination of saccades.

Twenty cefotaxime-resistant E. coli isolates collected from poultry in Lusaka, Zambia, were screened for multidrug resistance and sequenced on MiSeq and MinION platforms...All (20/20, 100%) poultry isolates exhibited resistance to ampicillin, chloramphenicol and doxycycline...Our results suggested clonal transmission of MDR E. coli between poultry and humans, with the potential acquisition of niche-specific AMR plasmids. Thus, the control of MDR E. coli requires a One Health approach involving both human and animal health sectors.

The results imply that doxycycline may interact with integrin αvβ3 and inhibits ERK1/2 activation, thereby regulating cell proliferation and downregulating PD-L1 gene expression in estrogen receptor (ER)-negative breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells.

To validate a small-molecule screening approach, we treated HFD-fed fish with pioglitazone, a drug shown to be beneficial for NAFLD in humans, and measured a sharp reduction in liver lipid accumulation. These results demonstrate new utility for zebrafish in modeling early NAFLD pathogenesis and demonstrate their feasibility for in vivo screening of new pharmacological interventions.

In this study we tested four antibiotics (tylosin, lincomycin, doxycycline, and tiamulin) and medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA; hexanoic, octanoic, decanoic, and dodecanoic acid) against an Italian field strain of B. hyodysenteriae and the ATCC 27164 strain as reference...Results of gene expression analysis were variable, with up- and downregulations not properly correlated with particular substances or target genes. Decanoic and dodecanoic acid with their direct and indirect antimicrobial property were the most effective among MCFA, suggesting them as good candidates for subsequent in vivo trials.
