In this study, doxycycline (DOXY)-loaded diatom biosilica (DBs) were developed and coated with hydroxybutyl chitosan (HBC) hydrogel for wound healing...The in vivo results demonstrated that HBC/DBs/DOXY composite hydrogel could promote the wound re-epithelialization and accelerate the healing. The wound closure was evaluated to be 99.4 ± 0.4% at day 12 after treated with the hydrogel, with the presence of neovascularization and collagen deposition, all indicating the great potential of HBC/DBs/DOXY hydrogel in wound healing.

We therefore demonstrate a novel methodology to generate adult B. malayi in vivo and accurately evaluate drug efficacy ex vivo which may be adopted for drug screening with the dual benefit of reducing overall animal use and improving anti-filarial drug development.

Furthermore, our approach allowed us to quantify previously unforeseen differences in vesicle dynamics, transferrin receptor recycling, expression kinetics, and protein stability among highly similar endogenous Rab11 family members and their colocalization in triple knock-in ovarian cancer cell lines.

To complicate this, although some drugs have relatively characteristic histopathologic features (such as doxycycline), there exist many other drugs that exhibit a wide and varying spectra of histopathologic findings (such as immune checkpoint inhibitors or olmesartan) and have histomorphologic overlap with many other commonly encountered disease entities...Awareness of the wide spectra of histopathologic changes associated with these drugs is crucial for practicing pathologists, to avoid misdiagnosis and guiding the clinician for an optimal patient management, which usually involves modifying or discontinuing the offending drug. Needless to say, once a diagnosis of drug induced injury is suspected, clinicopathologic correlation including corroboration with the drug history is of utmost importance as is exclusion of dual pathology in these patients.

This strategy might reduce the risk of long-term therapy-related adverse effects (particularly gut-related ones) and development of bacterial resistance toward the tetracycline antibiotic agents but the therapeutic potential and desirable safety profile of such compounds in AD/PD patients need to be confirmed.

Here, we have established a doxycycline-titratable system for genetic induction of permanent intratumor expression of KDM5B and screened for chemical agents that phenocopy this effect...Moreover, treatment with Cpd1 promoted the expression of the melanocyte-specific tyrosinase gene specifically sensitizing melanoma cells for the tyrosinase-processed antifolate prodrug 3-O-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoyl)-(-)-epicatechin (TMECG). In summary, our study provides proof-of-concept for a dual hit strategy in melanoma, in which persister state-directed transitioning limits tumor plasticity and primes melanoma cells towards lineage-specific elimination.
