Animals were subjected to CLP, and depletion of microglial cells was accomplished by administration of (Lipo)-encapsulated clodronate and microglial repopulation by doxycycline...There were no differences in the correlation between M1 and M2 markers by real-time PCR, but immunohistochemistry showed significant increase in CD11b expression in CLP+PBS with greater expression in CLP + liposomes in the hippocampus. These results suggest that the depletion of microglia during severe sepsis development could be associated with early exacerbation of brain and systemic inflammation and repopulation is able to revert this condition, once a rapid neurological recovery is noticed until 7 days after sepsis.

Despite topical treatment with corticosteroids and antibiotics as well as systemic therapy with oral doxycycline, the lesions did not show any regression or reduction in their secretion...The literature reports a number of treatment options including a) occlusion of the skin opening by paraffin oil, beeswax, petroleum jelly or agents such as liquid nitrogen or ethyl chloride sprays to suffocate the larva and promote self-extrusion; b) removing the larva by forceps after lidocaine instillation; c) surgical removal or d) the use of topical or oral ivermectin (1,8,9)...In conclusion, we described the clinical and histopathological features of furuncular myiasis by DH in a traveler returning from Peru. Given the ever-increasing numbers of international travelers, western dermatopathologists and dermatologists should be familiar with this disease to avoid prescription of unnecessary topical or systemic medications.

We constructed an inducible CXCR4 gene-editing, dual-vector CRISPR/Cas9 system, which could induce CXCR4 gene editing in MKN-45 cells in a doxycycline-dependent manner and thus reduce the migration of MKN-45 cells.

Our findings call for immediate actions to reduce antimicrobial use in Pakistan, and countries with comparable farming practices.
