[VIRTUAL] Successful bilateral electroconvulsive therapy in a patient with a seizure disorder taking levetiracetam, lorazepam, and zonisamide: a case report () - Dec 26, 2020 - Abstract #ASHP2020ASHP_2960;
To our knowledge, this is the first reported case describing the management of levetiracetam and zonisamide concomitantly in ECT. Our case suggests that utilizing the IR formulation of levetiracetam, administering the evening dose early the day prior to the procedure, and temporarily discontinuing zonisamide dosing prior to bilateral ECT was effective for the treatment of severe MDD while maintaining seizure prophylaxis.

Elevated anxiety levels in patients undergoing coronary bypass surgery have a negative effect through prolonged QT and P-wave dispersion times. Anxiolytic treatment before surgery may be useful to prevent ventricular and atrial arrhythmias and associated complications through decreasing the QT and P-wave dispersion duration.
