Further, ACE10 macrophages presented distinct anti-inflammatory (low inducible nitric oxide synthase and lower tumour necrosis factor-α), pro-healing immune profiles (high insulin-like growth factor-1, elongated cell morphology), even following exposure to Alzheimer's-related amyloid-β1-42 oligomers. Overall, we provide the first evidence for therapeutic roles of angiotensin-converting enzyme-overexpressing macrophages in preserving synapses and cognition, attenuating neuropathology and neuroinflammation, and enhancing resistance to defined pathognomonic amyloid-β forms.

Five cases described hepatocellular damage and one showed cholestatic injury. Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE-I) rarely have serious or life-threatening side effects.Lisinopril-induced liver injury can present as hepatocellular or cholestatic injury.Severe hepatotoxicity secondary to lisinopril can be life threatening irrespective of the liver injury pattern.

We present a case involving a non-traumatic spontaneous subdural intra-spinal thoracolumbar hematoma in a patient on standard atrial fibrillation dosing of apixiban, who developed progressive bilateral lower extremity flaccid paralysis, requiring Andexanet alfa and laminectomy nerve decompression...Medications were notable for aspirin, apixiban at 5 mg twice daily, lisinopril, and simvastatin...Anticoagulation was held post-operatively and the patient was continued on lisinopril, metoprolol, and atorvastatin in the ICU for further evaluation and monitoring...This uncommon case signifies the importance of anticoagulation evaluation, and the monitoring of standard apixiban dosing for atrial fibrillation, even without trauma or procedural provocation. Furthermore, diagnosis is challenging and requires a high level of clinical suspicion due to possible irreversible neurological impairment.

Her home medications include levothyroxine, lisinopril, ferrous sulfate and albuterol nebulization...She was treated with vancomycin, cefepime, oxygen, non-invasive ventilation in ICU with preliminary diagnosis of acute hypoxemic respiratory failure secondary to hospital acquired pneumonia...Despite antibiotics and solumedrol, she did not improve clinically...After multidisciplinary discussion, she was given pulse dose of steroids and started on IV cyclophosphamide in addition to prednisone for three months followed by methotrexate...Our case also demonstrates its response to steroid and cyclophosphamide and maintenance methotrexate therapy. Further studies are needed to understand the pathogenesis and to establish the treatment guidelines for the disease.

Clinical Case: 58 year-old female with history controlled hypertension on Lisinopril 10 mg daily, presented to hospital with two day history of fatigue, shortness of breath, and abdominal pain...Ten hours after the start of prednisone the patient developed sudden onset hypertension with BP >200/100 mmHg for which she was given labetalol intravenously...Orthostatic hypotension here was related to epinephrine predominance pattern of secretion and volume depletion. Steroids should be avoided in patients with known pheochromocytoma or in those with an adrenal adenoma without a negative biochemical workup for a pheochromocytoma as it could precipitate an adrenergic crisis possibly by inducing catecholamine synthesis and release and sensitizing target organs to the effects of catecholamines.
