    Pharmacotherapeutic agents such as corticosteroids, megestrol acetate, and cyproheptadine have several adverse reactions and also lack satisfactory results...Significant improvement was also seen in QoL especially related to QoL subdomains of physical wellbeing (P = 0.01), emotional wellbeing (P < 0.04), and functional wellbeing (P < 0.001). Rasayana therapy was seen to be well tolerated by all patients.

    The concentrations of 22 endocrine disrupting chemicals, including 4 categories of sex hormones, progesterones, glucocorticoids, and phenolic hormones, in groundwater of Wuxi-Changzhou were analyzed using solid-phase extraction and ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry...The average concentration of BPA was the highest (4.95 ng·L), followed by that of Meprednl, E2, prednisolone (Prednl), testosterone propionate (TES-pro), and megestrol-acetate (MA; 2.84, 0.71, 0.64, 0.58, and 0.53 ng·L, respectively)...A non-carcinogenic risk assessment showed a low risk of EDCs in the groundwater of the study area, and the risk of drinking water was greater than that of skin exposure. EE2 had the highest non-carcinogenic risk and is suggested to be monitored in priority.

    Conservative treatment was based on operative hysteroscopy and hormone therapy with megestrol acetate (160 mg/die for 9 months)...Our results advance the hypothesis that conservative treatment can represent a safe and feasible alternative to propose to young women with desire for pregnancy. Further randomized and multicentric studies are needed to arrive at unambiguous and standardized guidelines on the surgical and medical treatment of young women with EEC or AEH/EIN.

    Hydrocortisone was detected at sub-ng/L concentration in the active fraction in the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) assay but could not explain a significant fraction of the observed GR activity...The present study indicates that effect-based monitoring is a powerful tool to detect EDCs in the aquatic environment but fractionation may be required to avoid masking effects of mixture components. Future EDA studies are required to better understand the occurrence of EDCs and masking compounds in different lipophilicity windows in order to finally reduce fractionation requirements for monitoring to a smart clean-up.

    A simple rapid and efficient deep eutectic solvent-based magnetic colloidal gel (DES-MCG) assisted magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) method followed by high performance liquid chromatography with a diode array detector (HPLC-DAD) was established for determination of four sex hormones (including ethinylestradiol, norgestrel, megestrol acetate and medroxyprogesterone acetate) in cosmetic skin care toners...The recoveries of the four sex hormones in different cosmetic skin care toners ranged from 80.1% to 118.8% and the precisions were no more than 0.35%. The developed method was successfully applied for the determination of sex hormones in cosmetic skin care toners.

    Results from this study of elderly Medicare patients presenting with advanced stage prostate cancer suggest that NHB men are less likely to pursue aggressive treatment options. With the reduction in screening for prostate cancer, presumably tied to USPSTF recommendations, and the increasing incidence of men diagnosed with de novo metastatic disease, understanding drivers of treatment-related decisions are critical in reducing racial disparities in advanced prostate cancer outcomes.
