The target MAP was achieved between 5-15 min in 73.52% patients (Group D) with an infusion dose of 0.2-0.4 μg/kg/h of dexmedetomidine without the use of sevoflurane, while 82.35% patients in group M required 4% sevoflurane along with >12-15 mg/kg/hr infusion of MgSO to achieve target MAP in 10-20 min. Dexmedetomidine is superior to MgSO in achieving target MAP in lesser time with minimum infusion dose.

ICAM-1 and S-100β protein in sevoflurane combined with epidural anesthesia for radical resection of lung cancer can effectively predict the perioperative adverse complications of patients, and have better monitoring significance for the prognosis of patients. QNox at the end of surgery before arousal showed no association with and allowed no prediction of acute pain in the PACU.

Following anesthetic induction with oxygen, nitrous oxide, and sevoflurane, original or generic rocuronium (1 mg/kg) was administered via intravenous catheter...No withdrawal movements were observed in both groups. There was no significant difference in injection pain between original and generic rocuronium under inhalational induction.

Dexmedetomidine resulted in fewer desaturation episodes compared to propofol and opioids with or without midazolam (relative risk, 0.51 [95% CI, 0.28-0.95]; P = .03); occurrence of desaturation was similar with remifentanil versus propofol, while incidence of apnoea was lower with sevoflurane versus propofol (relative risk, 0.43 [95% CI, 0.22-0.81]; P = .01). A high degree of efficacy and safety was observed with minimal differences among different protocols; dexmedetomidine might offer a better safety profile compared to other sedatives.

Our results showed that inhalation of the anesthetic sevoflurane induced an acute hyperactivity in mice, particularly among Alzheimer's disease transgenic mice. Even though the inhaled anesthesia (sevoflurane in this case) has a depressive effect on esrt registration (the higher the minimal alveolar concentration of anesthetic agent, the higher the reflex threshold), our study shows a possibility of using it in an extended anesthesia monitoring. Inclusion of myorelaxants in cochlear implantation anesthesia protocol not only provides a safe anesthesia, but also does not prevent a timely intraoperative cochlear implant testing.

We evaluated whether apoptosis, triggered by the anesthetic sevoflurane in the brains of neonatal rhesus macaques, can be detected using quantitative ultrasound (QUS)...We report for the first time in vivo changes in QUS parameters, which may reflect severity of apoptosis in the brains of infant nonhuman primates. These findings suggest that QUS may enable in vivo studies of apoptosis in the brains of human infants following exposure to anesthetics, antiepileptics and other brain injury mechanisms.

Sev impeded cell migration and invasion through regulating miR-146b-5p and MMP16 in glioma, indicating a novel theories foundation for the application of anesthetics like Sev in glioma.
