The setup of the sustainable anesthesia groups was associated with a dramatic reduction in the carbon footprint related to halogenated anesthetics. These results should encourage health care institutions to undertake information campaigns toward anesthesia providers so that they also take into account the environmental impact in the choice of anesthetic drugs, in addition to the benefits for the patient and economic concerns.

A toddler was admitted for surgical excision of congenital left shoulder mass, general anesthesia was induced and maintained with sevoflurane by LMA. Prior to incision, after repositioning the patient from supine to RLD, patient desaturated, presented bradycardia and difficult PPV with LMA, after RSI, airway was secured with ETT until the end of surgery, when, after repositioning the patient back to supine, patient self-extubated and presented difficult PPV by mask, she was reintubated until ready for proper extubation , copious secretions were seen on aspiration, chest physical therapy was performed and patient emerged from anesthesia with no post operative complications.
