Outpatient diuretic dose escalation of any magnitude was associated with heart failure hospitalizations and resource utilization, but not all-cause mortality.

Our findings suggest that the administration of HSS as an adjunct to loop diuretics could provide a safe and effective treatment for increasing urine output and decreasing weight in patients with heart failure.
