Reaction system of HO/MoS/Fe is found to remove most of the tested pollutants by over 80% (except 65.9% for carbamazepine) within 60 min at pH of 3.0...As HO concentration increases from nil to 1.0 mM, the value of total EE/O decreases from 0.083 to 0.003 kWh L, and the most energy efficient condition is determined. This study provides a new pathway for efficient decomposition of HO by Fe ions in an extended pH range, which is considered a facile and promising strategy for wastewater treatment.

Further studies are required to evaluate the influence of PTE on the activity of anticonvulsant drugs to estimate the safety of using PTE by patients with epilepsy.

We designed the extrusion runs and demonstrated that: 1) the dehydration of CBZ dihydrate resulted in a disordered state of the drug molecule; 2) the resulted higher energy state CBZ facilitated the drug solubilization and mixing with the polymer matrix during the HME process, which significantly decreased the required extrusion temperature from 140 to 60 °C for CBZ ASDs manufacturing compared to directly processing anhydrous crystalline CBZ. This work illustrated that the proper utilization of drug hydrates can significantly improve the processability of HME for preparing ASDs.

CBZ remains the most economical AED: the cost-effectiveness is minimal compared to all other AEDs used in the study. However, monotherapy with LCM is advisable if it is necessary to minimize side-effects in patients with newly diagnosed FE.
