Overall patient perceived efficacy of the treatments remained low with significant variability in ratings, highlighting the need for more effective, non-narcotic therapies for the management of chronic abdominal pain. Overall, CAM therapies outperformed many commonly used pharmacologic agents in subjective ratings and should continue to be emphasized and incorporated into the treatment of chronic abdominal pain in FMDs.
