Larger studies are warranted to identify the potential genetic contribution to intestinal permeability.

There were high degrees of agreement among multiple patient reported outcome measures in assessing response to treatment for SIBO patients at 1 year follow up. These validated symptom instruments (GI-PROMIS, SF-12v2, and VAS) reflect both overall and GI specific symptom severity and HR-QOL, and may be used in the clinical setting to aide in management of conditions with wide array of symptoms and presentations such as SIBO.

IMPACT OF RACE AND ETHNICITY ON OUTCOMES IN A MULTI-CENTER NORTH AMERICAN COHORT OF INPATIENTS WITH CIRRHOSIS () - May 4, 2020 - Abstract #DDW2020DDW_4624;
Cirrhotic patients who were not white and those with Hispanic ethnicity demonstrated differences in cirrhosis severity at presentation, reasons for admission and inpatient course related to ICU, LOS and transplant in a large North American cohort. However, liver and hospitalization-related factors, rather than race and ethnicity, were largely associated with these outcomes on multi-variable analysis.
