Due to its widespread clinical application ,its side effects and complication in clinical settings often go unnoticed .As its basic mechanism of action,leuprolide acetate suppresses gonadotropin secretion of luteinizing hormone and follicle secreting hormone that subsequently suppress gonadal sex steroid production.The molecular mechanism underlying the therapeutic effect of GnRH analogs in the treatment od these above mentioned and various other disease is more complex than imagined .The potential uses of GnRH analogs in the modulation of its signalling and treatment of the disease has yet to be fully recognized.The biggest concern with the use of GnRH analog is the initial stimulatory effect that it produces causing flare up of the hormones in the body, exacerbating the existing disease before the hormonal level reach to its castration thereby treating the illness .in addition to the therapeutically induced side effects of these hormonal analogs , there are number of side effects which poses no direct relation to its usage but can potentially harm the patient being treated with their administration .Emergency physicians should have more awareness of these rare side effects of commonly used drugs and thus Keeping a high index of suspicion and a differential diagnosis in their minds for the patients coming to emergency department with such relevant history of administration of GnRH analogs could help in early management and treatment thereby reducing the cost of investigation and shortening the length of stay in the hospital.
