Together, our studies in Ivl -/- mice identify a functional role for Involucrin to positively impact Vdr activity and suggest an emerging IVL/VDR paradigm for adaptation in the human epidermis.

Taken together, our findings suggest that SFII may have promising therapeutic potential for this complex disease via the regulation of multiple AD-associated targets.

The treatment of FDD cannot be generalized and needs to be tailored on a case-by-case basis.
