All patient data collected on the data collection log will be identified using only the Coded Study ID and stored on Inspira Medical Center’s secure encrypted network.

Preclinical, Journal: A flavonoid driven phyto-pharmacological effects of Capparis decidua Edgew. in rodents. (Pubmed Central) - Dec 17, 2020 Its flavonoid constituent, kaempferol at doses of (50 and 100 mg/kg) produced 51.7 and 82% safety when compared to nifedipine which provided 95% safety at dose of 40 mg/kg against castor oil-driven diarrhea like loperamide...In isolated rat ileal preparations, CD.Cr and respective fractions elicited atropine-sensitive gut excitatory responses. In summary, this article reports C. decidua's laxative effect through cholinergic receptor activation as well as its antidiarrheal effects, where its flavonoid constituent kaempferol produces Ca antagonist like activity, thus justifying C. decidua folk use in constipation and diarrhea.

(Pubmed Central) - Dec 2, 2020 Our findings support the idea that ICVR might be beneficial in disorders with inhibited proximal colon transit resulting from fecal dehydration and hypoperistalsis, such as refractory cystic fibrosis-related intestinal obstruction. Potential clinical implications merit further study.

Journal: Towards exhaustive electromembrane extraction under stagnant conditions. (Pubmed Central) - Nov 26, 2020 Stagnant EME was evaluated in combination with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) as a highly specific instrumental method, and provided evaluation data on methadone from blood samples in accordance with regulatory requirements (LOD: 0.4 ng/mL, LOQ: 1.4 ng/mL, RSD: 6-20%). This work has improved upon the design of stagnant EME, moving it further towards a viable in-field operation device.

Journal: Evaluation of Anti-Diarrheal Activity of 80% Methanol Extracts of Vernonia amygdalina Delile (Asteraceae) Leaves in Mice. (Pubmed Central) - Nov 14, 2020 The negative control received distilled water orally, the test groups received three dose levels (100, 200, and 400 mg/kg) of the plant materials, and the positive control is given 3 mg/kg Loperamide orally...This study provides the antidiarrheal activity of the crude extract in all three models. Hence, the findings provide scientific support for the traditional use of Vernonia amygdalina leaves as treatment of diarrhea.

In this context, the role of the Internet has rapidly increased, playing a significant role both in the diffusion of emerging trends of drug misuse among users and experimenters, and the marketing, sale, and distribution of drugs through online pharmacies. This phenomenon within the context of a rapidly modifying drug scenario is a globally recognized health problem, determining severe adverse consequences, including fatalities, and represents a challenge for clinicians in general, psychiatrists, public health, and drug-control policies.
