Methods Qualitative design...Clozapine 400mg/day was instituted after no response to treatment with amisulpride, paliperidone, olanzapine or aripiprazole...Oral cariprazine was added in ascending doses up to 4.5mg with good tolerance. The patient showed remission of apathy, enhancement of behavioral activation, socialization and motivation to perform occupational activities. Conclusions Combinations of clozapine with partial agonists may improve the quality of life in refractory schizophrenia.

These results suggest that cariprazine treatment may improve not only the symptoms and everyday functioning of PNS patients but their engagement with life.

Improvement of mental state and reduction of symptoms of SP were diagnosed in 72.9% of patients, and after the use of traditional forms of prevention – only in 40.2% (DC=2.58; MI=0.43, p>0.001). Conclusions The results of approbation MPRP program in SB testify to its effectiveness.

Intractable hiccups can be caused by structural or functional disturbances of the medulla, afferent or efferent nerves to the respiratory muscles or metabolic and endocrine disorders, drugs, general anaesthesia and emotional problems. Objectives Authors present a case report about curing a patient of intractable hiccups using baclofen along with literature review. Methods A case report along with literature review forms the basis of discussion. Results A 30-year female diagnosed with schizophrenia stable on 2mg risperidone for 3 years presented to the outpatient department with complain of intractable hiccups for 6 months...patient had been receiving medical treatment for last 4 months for the same including Metoclopramide, chlorpromazine along with trying breath holding and drinking cold water but symptoms persisted...Within 1-week patient had dramatic response and complete remission was achieved in 2 weeks. Conclusions Beclofen is effective in hiccups because it is an analogue of GABA, that decreases excitability and inhibits the hiccup reflex, which reduces synaptic transmission. Baclofen is used to treat hiccups, and can be used either as a first-line treatment or if patient does not respond to other medications.

Introduction Published evidence describes the appearance of manic episodes in patients who suffer localized brain lesions with no prior psychiatric history. Objectives A case report is presented alongside a review of the relevant literature regarding the relationship between Bipolar disorder and strokes. Methods We present the case of a 54-year-old man who, after suffering a pontine hemorrhage, developed a depressive mood for which he was treated with Sertraline 50 mg...He was treated with Risperidone 2 mg and the antidepressant was withdrawn...He was treated again with antidepressants (Citalopram 30mg) and lithium was introduced in the absence of a total response. Results Mania secondary to brain lesions has been observed in multiple studies, where an association is made mainly with lesions at the frontal, temporal, subcortical limbic brain areas and in lesions causing hypofunctionality on the right side. Most of the cases described occurred in male patients with no prior psychiatric record and with associated vascular risk. Conclusions It is important to carry out an exhaustive medical history to be able to identify the cases of secondary mania so as not to ignore the underlying neurological condition in the approach.

They are associated especially with oral systemic steroids and high doses: 1.3% with 40mg of prednisone, and 18% with 80mg; increased this incidence due to the greater use that is being made to treat COVID-19 and the higher doses used in severe cases (up to 120 mg). Conclusions To conclude, we need to know characteristics of these episodes in order to be able to prevent and treat them properly (minimum effective dose and less time), since they will probably occur more frequently at this time.

Objectives This study aims to assess the impact on several prognosis variables of PP1M,PP3M,AOM and OAP drugs. Methods All adults (≥18 years) with schizophrenia who were initiated on PP1M, PP3M, AOM, or OAP treatment (chlorpromazine,levomepromazine,fluphenazine,haloperidol,ziprasidone,zuclopenthixol,olanzapine,quetiapine,asenapine,amisulpride, risperidone,aripiprazole,paliperidone) between 2017 and 2018 were identified in IQVIA’s database(1.8M of inhabitants from 4 Spanish areas)...01) for PP3M (23%) than for PP1M (36.9%), OAP (43.5%),and AOM (46.2%). Persistence rates were higher for PP3M (91%) than for any other treatment (p<0.01). Conclusions Our results outline that patients treated with PP3M experienced fewer relapses and decompensations compared to all other treatments analyzed, which might help improve the prognosis and quality of life of patients.

Conclusions All pregnant women on LAI antipsychotic treatment gave birth to (apparently) healthy babies...Long-term follow-up could clarify eventual delayed aftereffects. Based on the literature, LAI antipsychotic treatment could be considered as an option for selected pregnant patients.

Results The following case describes the development of angioedema in a patient with an acute confusional syndrome on the second haloperidol IM administration for symptomatic control of agitation. Angioedema has been reported as an adverse effect of various antipsychotics such as clozapine, risperidone, ziprazidone and chlorpromazine, however, resulting from haloperidol administration is rare. Conclusions In long-term formulations sensitization testing is especially important but a single prior administration is not sufficient, a second controlled administration is essential to avoid this kind of fatal reactions.

Conclusions It is not possible to attribute our patient’s psychotic symptoms entirely to his Interferon therapy or to MS lesion load, but the occurrence during treatment, no psychiatric history and the rapid but parcial resolution with discontinuing suggest that Interferon therapy was at least contributory to the clinical picture.

Conclusions These two cases identified a Quincke-edema reaction associated with the use of Chlorpromazine, this complication can lead to life-threatening manifestations and warrants greater awareness of the potential for recurrence.
