A total of 18 metabolites, including citric acid, 4-sphingenin, N-acetylcitrulline, 4-aminophenol, L(+)-lactic acid, 2-oxoadipate, sildenafil, formylglycinamidin-RP, 11?,17?,21-?-5?-pregnane-3,20-dione, 2-ketobutyric acid, homoserine, benzaldehyde, 1-pyrroline4-hydroxy-2-carboxylate, nortriptyline, 1-methylguanine, 3-hydroxy-trimethyllysine, 3-phenylpropionate, and reserphine were predicted as bioactive metabolites using the partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA). This study provides valuable insights into the metabolites present in EBN and serves as fundamental data for future investigations into the bioactive compounds responsible for its specific health benefits, potentially leading to the development of enhanced EBN-based functional foods.

Lastly, it is demonstrated, using capillary electrophoresis coupled to a UV-Vis detector, that for PP-HF-EE, the extraction efficiency and pre-concentration factor are less dependent on other parameters when multiple PPs per sample are utilized, with signal enhancement values of up to 111 and 339 for nortriptyline and haloperidol, respectively. All the findings and strategies presented herein constitute significant contributions that can facilitate future research in method development, particularly in the utilization of PP-HF-EE and similar EE approaches.

Our review hopes to inspire further research into patient stratification by their physiology, aiding quicker and more accurate management of neuropathic pain while minimizing inadvertent side effects.

QRS widening in poisoned patients with tricyclic antidepressants is more frequently observed in symptomatic patients, highlighting the importance of ECG screening in these patients.

Other treatments, such as acupuncture, alpha-lipoic acid, acetyl-L-carnitine, cannabidiol, and onabotulinumtoxinA need further study in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
