    All isolates were resistant to erythromycin (MIC ≥4 mg/L) due to the presence of 2057A (Escherichia coli numbering) in 23S rRNA...Susceptibility breakpoints for clindamycin, tetracycline and levofloxacin were suggested to be ≤0.125, ≤2, and ≤2 mg/L, respectively...Multi-drug resistance was also observed (14.3%). This study demonstrates the frequent occurrence of antimicrobial resistance in M. salivarium, emphasizing the need for culture and susceptibility testing to guide antimicrobial therapy.

    3-indoleacetonitrile reduced the resistance to imipenem in carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii isolates by down-regulating the expression of OXA β-lactamases (blaoxa-51 and blaoxa-23), outer membrane protein carO and transporter protein adeB. These findings demonstrate the therapeutic potential of 3-indoleacetonitrile which could be explored as an adjuvant with antibiotics for controlling A. baumannii infections.

    This study demonstrates high H. pylori resistance rates to clarithromycin, levofloxacin, metronidazole, and rifampicin, whereas moderate resistance to amoxicillin, and negligible resistant to tetracycline, and furazolidone in Tibet Autonomous Region, China. The high resistance to rifampicin warns further investigation of its derivative, rifabutin.

An early diagnosis with extensive patient history including the source of THC, initial workup ruling out other lung conditions, and early start on systemic glucocorticoids can lead to reduced hospital duration and better outcome.

    CASE PRESENTATION: A 76-year-old male with a medical history significant for COPD, Rheumatoid arthritis (treated with hydroxychloroquine and low dose steroids), and monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) presented with one week of fever, cough, and fatigue...He was started on Levofloxacin, but he did not meet the criteria for administration of dexamethasone, remdesivir, or monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapy...Our patient received dexamethasone, remdesivir, tocilizumab, and convalescent plasma as part of conventional COVID-19 treatment with continued worsening of COVID-19 pneumonia. Hence, physicians and FDA should consider expanding the use of REGEN-COV mAB therapy to immunosuppressed patients with rapidly worsening COVID-19 pneumonia in adjunct to conventional COVID-19 treatment.

In open injury of extremities, apparent temperature and relative humidity is an important risk factor for infection by pathogenic bacteria and the drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria in out-of-hospital infection was lower than that of hospital infection.

    This is the first case of A. aphrophilus to cause brain abscess in adult with a history of congenital heart disease for more than 20 years, who had no dental disease and did not develop infective endocarditis. We also highlight the value of bacterial 16 S rDNA PCR amplification and sequencing in identifying bacteria in abscesses which are culture-negative, and prompt surgical treatment，choosing effective antibiotics and appropriate course of treatment will get better clinical effect.

    The risk of sepsis, retinal detachment, all-cause hospitalization, all-cause mortality, and sudden cardiac death did not differ significantly between groups. These findings suggest that older patients with advanced CKD who were prescribed a fluoroquinolone at a higher-than-recommended dose were significantly more likely to experience the composite outcome of a hospital visit with nervous system and/or psychiatric disorders, hypoglycemia, or a collagen-associated event, although the absolute risk of these events was less than 2%.

With the increasing resistance rate and multiple resistance of H. pylori to commonly used antibiotics, drug susceptibility testing is imperative to permit individualized therapy, and a regimen containing the combination of amoxicillin, furazolidone, tetracycline, doxycycline, or rifampicin is reasonable for initial empirical eradication therapy.

    KFXYS lowered the rectal temperature and the WBC counts in the blood in the acute stage of PID and alleviated inflammatory cell infiltration of the uterus, especially when combined with levofloxacin...Mechanistically, KFXYS inhibited the NF-κB activation by decreasing phosphorylation of p65, thus the alleviation of inflammation further reduced the expression of TGF-β and MMP-2, and inhibited the occurrence of uterine adhesions. These results revealed that KFXYS alleviated pelvic inflammation and effectively inhibits inflammation-associated adhesion, which indicated the potential role of KFXYS for treatment of PID and the prevention of PID sequelae.

    MFeO photocatalysts exhibited lower photocatalytic activity for the degradation of levofloxacin hydrochloride under visible light irradiation...The mechanism of activation of peroxymonosulfate by MFeO was proposed and proved by radical quenching experiments, electron spin resonance analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and transient photocurrent responses. The combined activation effects of photogenerated e/h and transition metals on peroxymonosulfate to produce sulfate radical clearly enhanced the degradation efficiency.

    A further examination revealed Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the unexposed pus, so the patient was treated with a total of 10 weeks of cefepime, followed by levofloxacin and debridement twice. While this may have been a case of bacterial replacement, we should still consider P. aeruginosa infection in healthy adults when faced with an episode of waterborne injury.
