Journal:  Mechanism of Anti-Inflammatory Drugs in the Early Treatment of Oral Gingival Mucosa and Soft Tissue Trauma. (Pubmed Central) -  Oct 18, 2022
Then, the white-eared rabbits were treated with gingival wound treatment experiments, and the physiological characteristics, intratissue pressure, tissue partial pressure of oxygen, IL-6 content, and PGE2 content were determined at each postinjury period, and the mechanism of action of anti-inflammatory drugs was determined. Research results have shown that anti-inflammatory drugs can significantly inhibit the content of IL-6 and PGE2 in gingival soft tissue after injury, reduce the local inflammatory response, and accelerate tissue healing.

  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Antimicrobial resistance and genomic investigation of non-typhoidal Salmonella isolated from outpatients in Shaoxing city, China. (Pubmed Central) -  Oct 7, 2022
Furthermore, the phylogenomic analysis showed that all isolates of the same serovar are very close to each other and clustered together in the same clade. Together, we showed a high incidence of MDR among the studied isolates which is alarming for public health services and is a major threat to the currently available treatments to deal with human salmonellosis; hence, efforts should be gathered to further introduce WGS in routinely monitoring of AMR Salmonella in the medical field in order to enhance the effectiveness of surveillance systems and to limit the spread of MDR clones.

The distribution of pathogenic bacteria in different hospital departments and sample sources was markedly different. Therefore, targeted prevention and control of key pathogenic bacteria in different hospital departments is necessary, and understanding both drug resistance and multiple drug resistance of the main pathogenic bacteria may provide guidance for the rational use of antibiotics in the clinic.
  • ||||||||||  FDA event, Journal:  Phylogenic analysis of coronavirus genome and molecular studies on potential anti-COVID-19 agents from selected FDA-approved drugs. (Pubmed Central) -  Sep 29, 2022
The Root Mean Square Deviation (RMSD), Root Mean Square Fluctuation (RMSF), Radius of gyration (Rg), and binding energy values obtained after 100 ns of MDS revealed good stability of these compounds in the binding sites of the proteins while important pharmacophore features were also identified. The study showed that COVID-19 likely originated from bat, owing to the over 90% genomic similarity observed, and that lopinavir, levofloxacin, and hydroxychloroquine might serve as potential anti-COVID-19 lead molecules for additional optimization and drug development for the treatment of COVID-19.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Journal:  Azithromycin use increases the risk of sudden cardiac death in patients with hemodialysis-dependent kidney failure. (Pubmed Central) -  Sep 29, 2022
Azithromycin vs. levofloxacin treatment was associated with lower relative and absolute risks of sudden cardiac death, weighted hazard ratio of 0.79 (0.64 to 0.96) and weighted risk difference per 100,000 treatment episodes of -18.9 (-35.5 to -3.8). Thus, when selecting among azithromycin, levofloxacin, and amoxicillin-based antibiotics, clinicians should weigh the relative antimicrobial benefits of these drugs against their potential cardiac risks.
