In addition, the inhibition zones formed by cefuroxime, cefoperazone, amikacin, streptomycin, minocycline, doxycycline, levofloxacin, florfenicol, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, azithromycin, lincomycin, and clindamycin for the tolC mutant were larger or more obvious than that for the parent...Finally, we found that erythromycin, norfloxacin, and ciprofloxacin can potentiate the antibacterial activity of BCE against CMCC(B) 45301. The present study elaborated the comprehensive TolC effect on the antimicrobial susceptibility profile in E. bugandensis, which might contribute to the development of more therapeutic options against this nosocomial pathogen.

P4 data, Review, Journal: Safety of oral nemonoxacin: A systematic review of clinical trials and postmarketing surveillance. (Pubmed Central) - Dec 27, 2022 Pharmacokinetic data suggested that dose adjustment was not necessary in elderly patients, which was confirmed by a Phase IV study in an elderly population, in patients with renal impairment with CLcr ≥50 ml/min, and in those with mild-to-moderate hepatic impairment. Clinical trial data of approximately 1,450 patients and postmarketing data of >257,420 patients suggest that nemonoxacin is generally well tolerated and can be a suitable alternative to fluoroquinolones for patients with CAP.

(Pubmed Central) - Dec 24, 2022 On the contrary, among the 40 examined antibiotics, the effective antibiotics were Daptomycin, Linezolid, Mupirocin, Synercid, Teicoplanin, Vancomycin, and Nitrofurantoin...Additionally, all bacteria were multidrug-resistance bacteria. Therefore, this high prevalence should be seriously discussed and urgently considered.

The susceptibility rates of S. pneumoniae isolates to vancomycin, linezolid, and levofloxacin were 100%...Most isolates were resistant to erythromycin, clindamycin, tetracycline, and azithromycin...Seven (5.5%) patients died during hospitalization, and 38 (29.9%) patients' health deteriorated. These results may provide a reference basis for the diagnosis and empiric treatment of IPD in the region.

Journal: How does gender affect ureaplasma and mycoplasma growth and antimicrobial susceptibility rates? (Pubmed Central) - Dec 21, 2022 Given the presence of M. hominis and U. urealyticum infections, especially in the presence of risky conditions such as pregnancy, laboratory tests for the diagnosis of these agents should be used in such studies since no urogenital infections were detected in the routine cultures of the patients followed up with the suspicion of urogenital infection. Gender differences should also be considered as a parameter in the preference of antibiotics.

The resistance rates of H. pylori to amoxicillin, tetracycline, and furazolidone were low, whereas the resistance rates of H. pylori to clarithromycin, levofloxacin, and metronidazole were high, especially in re-treated patients. Our results indicate that the clinical resistance patterns of clarithromycin and levofloxacin could be guided by relevant gene mutations.

Journal: Routine Donor and Recipient Screening for Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma Species in Lung Transplant Recipients. (Pubmed Central) - Dec 6, 2022 Pretransplant recipient urine screening had a low yield and was not correlated with post-transplant Mollicute infection, likely because most M. hominis and U. parvum/urealyticum infections in lung transplant recipients are donor-derived. Routine donor bronchus swab PCR for M. hominis, U. urealyticum, and U. parvum followed by preemptive therapy did not obviously impact the overall incidence of Mollicute infection or HS in this cohort.
