We report an imported case of myositis caused by a rare parasite, Haycocknema perplexum, in Australia in a 37-year-old man who had progressive facial, axial, and limb weakness, dysphagia, dysphonia, increased levels of creatine kinase and hepatic aminotransferases, and peripheral eosinophilia for 8 years. He was given extended, high-dose albendazole.

To our knowledge, bone marrow and intestinal lesions associated with albendazole use in the goat have not been reported previously. Veterinarians should be aware of potential adverse events and toxicoses associated with anthelmintic drugs, especially as parasite resistance increases, and extra-label usage, and the use of such drugs without veterinary supervision, becomes more common.

The current study was designed to determine LF endemicity level in the urban area of Bamako after three rounds of ivermectin and albendazole mass drug administration (MDA)...Our data indicate that there was no active LF transmission in the low prevalence urban district of Bamako after three MDA rounds. These data helped the National LF programme move forward towards the elimination goal.

In addition, ABZ blocked autophagic flux by inhibiting the fusion of autophagosome-lysosome, which increased the apoptotic death of CCA cells. However, the apoptotic death of CCA cells induced by ABZ was reversed by 3-methyladenine (3-MA), an autophagosome formation inhibitor, but increased by chloroquine (CQ), an autophagosome-lysosome fusion inhibitor.Our work provides novel mechanisms for anti-tumor effects of ABZ on CCA, suggesting that ABZ may be used as a potent autophagy inhibitor in the treatment of CCA.

MESO-PP produced ink 1 (50% Gelucire 43/01, 25% Gelucire 50/13 and 25% RBZ), which has a zero-order release (RR = 0.180%/min) and the longest flotation time (545 ± 23 min), and in turn would produce a significant increase in oral absorption of the drug, with an AUC 2.16-fold higher than that obtained in animals treated with RBZ loaded in conventional tablets.

Ultrasound is the imaging modality of choice to detect filarial worms/microfilaria in the lymphatic system, which produces the classic twirling of microfilaria in the lymphatic system, known as the "filarial dance sign".

This paper provides evidence of the impact of MDA on LF prevalence in Abuja.
