Higher percentages of naloxone users had risk factors for overdose including high Morphine Equivalent Daily Dose (MEDD) use, long-term opioid use, concomitant use of benzodiazepine, concomitant use of antipsychotic, high-risk diagnosis (i.e., alcohol dependence, opioid dependence, other substance abuse dependence, and depression), and history of opioid overdose compared with non-naloxone users (p < 0.001)...The results showed that the use of naloxone was still very low, even after the emphasis of considering naloxone use for patients with risk factors in 2018. Further studies are needed to investigate the barriers contributing to the low rate of naloxone use, and interventions are needed for improving the appropriate use of naloxone.

Objectives were to determine opioid oral morphine equivalent (OME) doses for cancer survivors after CIR and factors associated with higher opioid dose burden...Controlling for other factors, we predict that patients that undergo radiation for their cancer will use, on average, 4.1 (95% CI: 3.1-5.1) OMEs one year after CIR. CONCLUSIONS : From this study, for many cancer survivors utilizing opioids long-term before or after radiation, sustained high doses of opioids were used.

CONCLUSIONS : From this study, for many cancer survivors utilizing opioids long-term before or after radiation, sustained high doses of opioids were used. On the basis of the conventional western medication for analgesia, electrothermal acupuncture could relieve pain, reduce the dose of opioid painkillers and improve the quality of life in patients of moderate to severe cancer pain with yin-cold stagnation, has a better safety.

Rats were randomized to six groups according to the solution injected into the uterine cervix: normal saline, vehicle, capsaicin (0.3 mg, 0.6 mg, 0.9 mg), capsaicin 0.9 mg + morphine (n = 15 in each group)...Injection of capsaicin into the uterine cervix in rats could be a practical model of inflammatory cervical pain, which can be evaluated using our novel pain score. This model will provide further insight into the mechanism underlying visceral pain originating from the uterine cervix.

Future research should explore in whom a same-day discharge may be a safe and effective strategy.
