    Further, we show that the budesonide NS enema treated mice had a significantly reduced number of inflammatory macrophages and IL-β producing CD11b + cells in colon tissue compared to untreated controls or mice treated with the budesonide MS enema. We conclude that the nano-size and muco-inert coating allowed for enhanced local delivery of budesonide, and thus, a more significant impact on local colorectal tissue inflammation.

    A previous version of the review had shown a lower risk of asthma-related SAEs in adults taking combined formoterol and ICS; however, inclusion of new studies no longer shows a difference between treatments (moderate-certainty evidence).The reported number of children and adolescents with SAEs was small, so uncertainty remains in this age group.We included results from large studies mandated by the FDA. Clinical decisions and information provided to patients regarding regular use of formoterol and ICS need to take into account the balance between known symptomatic benefits of formoterol and ICS versus the remaining degree of uncertainty associated with its potential harmful effects.

    The applicability of the method was performed using feathers from pigeons administered orally with a daily dose of 0.075 mg of betamethasone. The drug was administered during 60 days and successive analyses of feathers were performed, at the end of the administration protocol and also after ceasing the oral administration of the drug, for a three weeks period.

Repurposing drugs as inhaled therapies permitted direct delivery of low doses of drug to the site of action reducing the incidence of unwanted side-effects and permitting the prophylactic treatment of asthma.

    We performed a retrospective analysis of patients with AIH that confirmed the therapeutic value of budesonide beyond 12 months of treatment in patients who are intolerant to or dependent on prednisolone.
