Here, we demonstrate that neurons linked by excitatory connections fire synchronously during seizures, and this synchrony is modulated by epileptogenesis and antiseizure drugs. Closed-loop brain stimulation carefully targeted to disrupt synchrony may improve the treatment of seizures.

This study is designed to explore binder jet 3D printing (BJ-3DP) for the development of high-precision and repeatable compound levetiracetam-pyridoxine hydrochloride (LEV-PN) multicompartmental structure dispersible tablets...Scanning electron microscopy and porosity results indicated that the tablets have a loose interior and tight exterior, which would ensure good mechanical properties while enabling the tablet to disintegrate quickly in the mouth and achieve rapid release of the two drugs. This study used BJ-3DP technology to prepare personalized multicompartmental structures of drug systems and provides a basis for the development of complex preparations.

In conclusion, we report a case of OMS associated with breast cancer anti-Ri onconeural antibody. Its manifestations preceded the diagnosis of malignancy and it persisted after cancer treatment, underlining the importance for high clinical suspicion in cases of classical paraneoplastic neurological syndromes as well as the need for long-term clinical follow-up.

CONCLUSIONS This observational cohort study showed that LEV+VPA has better efficacy than other AED combinations with either LEV or VPA, but toxicity was similar in the two groups.

We suppressed epileptiform activity by treatment with the antiepileptic drug levetiracetam or by genetic ablation of tau and found that these interventions reversed or prevented aberrant microglial gene expression in brain tissues of aged human amyloid precursor protein transgenic mice, which simulate several key aspects of AD...We conclude that AD-related epileptiform activity markedly changes the molecular profile of microglia, inducing both maladaptive and adaptive alterations in their activities. Increased expression of TREM2 seems to support microglial activities that counteract this type of network dysfunction.
