    Although, there is currently no evidence that seizures respond better to one particular anti-seizure medication, one case series reported some positive effects from SCB anti-seizure drugs, with 5 out of 8 patients seizure free on monotherapy. While DEPDC5 is not a commonly associated gene with infantile spasms, 10% of probands were reported to have infantile spasms, and DEPDC5-related infantile spasms may have favorable responses to LCM.

In utero seizures are reported rarely and should be suspicious for KCNQ2 -related seizures

    We calculated the dose-normalized concentration (DNC) for analysis with levetiracetam and lamotrigine, assessing changes in DNC over time by half trimesters, and analyzed DNC and effects on seizures in pregnancy...However, in those with drug-resistant epilepsy before pregnancy, earlier and closer monitoring is warranted given the risk of seizures early during pregnancy. Larger prospective studies are needed to confirm these results.

MELAS syndrome without stroke-like episodes of diffuse posterior cerebral white matter lesions is rare in clinical practice, and the possibility of MELAS syndrome should be considered in symmetric posterior cerebral white matter lesions.

    In contrast to all of these gonadotoxic effects of LEV, improvements in LEV-induced gonadal damage were seen through upregulation of Nrf2/ HO-1, Cx-43/NOX-1, mTOR/Atg-7 expression and attenuation of hypogonadism, poor sperm quality, mitochondria-mediated apoptosis, and oxidative inflammation due to quercetin post-treatment. The modulation of Nrf2/HO-1, /mTOR/Atg-7 and Cx-43/NOX-1 levels and the inhibition of mitochondria-mediated apoptosis and oxido-inflammation in LEV-induced gonadotoxicity in rats suggest that quercetin may hold promise as a possible therapeutic treatment.

    The patient was started on IV hydrocortisone 2.5mg/kg QDS and a 5-ASA...The patient had some ongoing focal seizure activity so levetiracetam was continued...A review of the literature shows steroids and hypertension as a frequent causative mechanism of PRES. The association between PRES syndrome and infliximab is not well defined, however there are a few single case reports published of PRES syndrome in patients treated with either infliximab or Ustekinumab.
