* IXADES (IXAzomib for DESensitization) was a pilot exploratory, proof of concept, open-label, single-center phase II clinical trial (NCT03213158) in which highly sensitized (cPRA > 80%) kidney transplant candidates, active on the waitlist for > 24 months were treated with 12 monthly cycles of Ixazomib 3 mg + dexamethasone 20 mg. Ixazomib alone or in combination with other immunosuppressive agents may offer a simple, safe, and effective approach to desensitization strategies in kidney transplantation.

Reproductive rates among steroid types were determined as 25 (56.8%) in the Methylprednisolone group, 18 (69.2%) (Highest) in the Dexamethasone + Methylprednisolone group, and 54 (43.2%) (Lowest) in the Dexamethasone group...In conclusion, while steroids reduce mortality by controlling the hyper-inflammatory picture, they also increase mortality with increased secondary infections. Preventing infections enables success with steroids.

Timely diagnosis and treatment with immunomodulators, and multi-disciplinary management resulted to favourable outcomes in our patients.

To assess the impact of one intravitreal injection (IVT) of Triamcinolone Acetonide (TA) on intraocular pressure (IOP) and optic nerve structural parameters in patients treated for Diabetic Macular Edema (DME)...Our results confirmed that intravitreal TA results in IOP increase. This seems to negatively affect optic nerve morphology, even in patients without OHT or adequately treated with hypotensive agents.
