The current study investigated the effect of dexamethasone (DEX)-a commonly used growth promoter-on the broiler growth rate, meat quality, and muscle biology...We also observed that DEX significantly increased the number of myofibers and decreased the cross-sectional area of myofibers. Based on these findings, we conclude that DEX reduces feed intake, feed efficiency, and growth rate, but might improve meat quality with a potential risk of residual DEX accumulation if fed at a high dose.

In doxorubicin-induced glomerulonephritis models, results revealed that MM/HA-DXM could specifically "homing" to inflammatory renal tissue with 4.33-fold improvement in targeting performance. In addition, in vivo pharmacodynamic results proved that after treatment with MM/HA-DXM, the proteinuria level decreased to 2.33 times, as compared with that of control group, demonstrating a superior therapeutic effect on glomerulonephritis via this collaborative two-pronged anti-inflammatory therapy strategy.

Relative to placebo and high-dose corticosteroids, low-dose corticosteroids (≤20 mg/kg hydrocortisone) during adult cardiac surgery did not increase the risks of myocardial infarction (odds ratio [OR]: 0.96, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.43-2.17; p = 0.93)...Furthermore, low-dose corticosteroids significantly shortened the mechanical ventilation times (mean difference [MD]: -2.74 h, 95% CI: -4.14, -1.33; p = 0.0001), intensive care unit (ICU) stay (MD: -1.48 days, 95% CI: -2.73, -0.22; p = 0.02), and hospital stay (MD: -2.29 days, 95% CI: -4.51, -0.07; p = 0.04). Low-dose corticosteroids prophylaxis during cardiac surgery provided significant benefits for adult patients, without increasing the risks of myocardial infarction and other complications.

The need for disease registries for rare conditions, such as VITT, is crucial as direct cooperation and sharing of information by clinicians might enable quicker identification of disease patterns than would have been possible via established reporting tools of adverse events.

In conclusion, our case demonstrates that a patient with a confirmed polyethylene glycol anaphylaxis could safely receive both doses of the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines in a single step with pre-treatment. We hope that our case will further support the limited role in skin testing to PEG in the assessment of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine allergy and highlight the need for further research to elucidate the mechanism of action behind these allergic reactions.
