    Preclinical, Journal:  Impact of quetiapine on ion channels and contractile dynamics in rat ventricular myocyte. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 15, 2024
    This study demonstrates that QT extension induced by quetiapine is mainly associated with the prolongation of AP. Moreover, quetiapine caused a significant decrease in contractile force and excitability of ventricular myocytes by suppressing Ca2+ and K+ currents.
  • ||||||||||  fluoxetine / Generic mfg.
    Journal:  ShuYu capsule alleviates emotional and physical symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder: Impact on ALLO decline and GABAA receptor ? subunit in the PAG area. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 15, 2024
    While a low dose of fluoxetine, a classic selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, is commonly used as a first-line drug to alleviate emotional disorders in PMDD in clinical settings, its mechanism of action is related to ALLO-GABAA receptor function...The observed effects of ShuYu capsules suggest a central mechanism underlying PMDD symptoms, involving ALLO_GABAA receptor function in the PAG region. This study highlights the potential of traditional Chinese medicine in addressing both emotional and physical symptoms associated with PMDD, shedding light on novel therapeutic approaches for this condition.
  • ||||||||||  tramadol hydrochloride / Generic mfg.

    Review, Journal:  The Roles of Endogenous Opioids in Placebo and Nocebo Effects: From Pain to Performance to Prozac. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 14, 2024
    A common pathway for such outcomes is the endogenous opioid system. This chapter describes the history of placebo/nocebo in medicine; delineates the current state of the literature related to placebo/nocebo in relation to pain modulation; summarizes research findings related to human performance in sports and exercise; discusses the implications of placebo/nocebo effects among diverse patient populations; and describes placebo/nocebo influences in research related to psychopharmacology, including the relevance of endogenous opioids to new lines of research on antidepressant pharmacotherapies.
  • ||||||||||  venlafaxine / Generic mfg.
    Journal:  Zygotic Exposure to Venlafaxine Disrupts the Circadian Locomotor Activity Behaviour in Zebrafish Larvae. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 14, 2024
    Overall, zygotic exposure to venlafaxine disrupts the locomotor activity of larval zebrafish fish during the day, demonstrating the capacity of antidepressants to disrupt the circadian rhythms in behaviour. Our results suggest that disruption in melatonin signalling may be playing a role in the venlafaxine impact on circadian behaviour, but further investigation is required to elucidate the possible mechanisms in larval zebrafish.
  • ||||||||||  Vraylar (cariprazine) / Mitsubishi Tanabe, Recordati, Gedeon Richter, AbbVie
    Journal:  MedChemExpress compounds prevent neuraminidase N1 via physics- and knowledge-based methods. (Pubmed Central) -  Jun 14, 2024
    It was found that five compounds, including micronomicin, didesmethyl cariprazine, argatroban, Kgp-IN-1, and AY 9944, are able to inhibit neuraminidase N1 of the influenza A virus. Ten residues, including Glu119, Asp151, Arg152, Trp179, Gln228, Glu277, Glu278, Arg293, Asn295, and Tyr402, may be very important in controlling the ligand-binding process to N1.
