PK/PD data, Journal: Pharmacokinetics of Trazodone in Hispaniolan Parrots (Amazona ventralis). (Pubmed Central) - Jul 9, 2024 Plasma concentrations are comparable to previously published values in humans, dogs, horses, and pigeons (Columba livia domestica) for up to 14 hours following dosing. This study indicates that further studies are needed to establish the pharmacodynamics and the efficacy of trazodone in the medical management of behavioral problems in psittacine species.
- |||||||||| sertraline / Generic mfg.
Journal, IO biomarker: Sertraline Alleviates Chronic Prostatitis by Regulating the TRPV1 Channel. (Pubmed Central) - Jul 9, 2024 The results revealed the anti-inflammatory effect of sertraline for RWPE-1 cells and EAP mice, and the potential mechanism was regulating the TRPV1 channel. It indicated that sertraline might serve as a complementary anti-inflammatory agent for CP.

Journal, Checkpoint inhibition, Myeloid-derived suppressor cells: Targeting MDSC-HTR2B to Improve Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors in Breast to Brain Metastasis. (Pubmed Central) - Jul 9, 2024 In vivo murine models of metastatic and intracranial breast tumors treated with FDA-approved, anti-psychotic HTR2B antagonist, clozapine, combined with immunotherapy anti-PD-1 demonstrated a significant increase in survival and increased T cell infiltration. Collectively, these findings reveal a previously unknown role of MDSC-HTR2B in breast-to-brain metastasis, suggesting a novel and immediate therapeutic approach using neurological drugs to treat patients with metastatic breast cancer.

Review, Journal: Surgical management of chronic sixth cranial nerve palsy: case report and literature review. (Pubmed Central) - Jul 9, 2024 In the future, strabismus management will focus on refining personalized treatment and exploring innovative techniques for complex cases. Our success in using a combination of Nishida procedure and BTA injection should be further investigated in large-scale studies.

Journal: Electrocardiogram Abnormality in Poisoned Patients with Tricyclic Antidepressant. (Pubmed Central) - Jul 9, 2024 Notably, our results revealed ECG changes in 70 patients, with 32 patients (15.2%) showing a QRS widening (> 0.1sec), 5 patients (2.4%) displaying a tall R wave in aVR, 5 patients (2.4%) exhibiting right axis deviation, and other observed changes. QRS widening in poisoned patients with tricyclic antidepressants is more frequently observed in symptomatic patients, highlighting the importance of ECG screening in these patients.
- |||||||||| pentylenetetrazole (BTD-001) / Balance Therap
Preclinical, Journal: Additive Anticonvulsive Effects of Sumatriptan and Morphine on Pentylenetetrazole-Induced Clonic Seizures in Mice. (Pubmed Central) - Jul 9, 2024 While concomitant administration of either the non-selective NO synthase (NOS) inhibitor L-NG-nitroarginine methyl ester (5 mg/kg) or the selective inducible NOS inhibitor aminoguanidine (50 mg/kg) with combined sub-effective doses of morphine and sumatriptan produced significant anticonvulsive effects, concomitant administration with the selective neuronal NOS inhibitor 7-nitroindazole (30 mg/kg) inhibited this effect. Our data suggest a possible role for the NO signaling in the anticonvulsive effects of combined sumatriptan and morphine on the PTZ-induced clonic seizures in mice.
- |||||||||| Fycompa (perampanel) / Eisai, Catalyst Pharma
Review, Journal: On Seizures and Knives: Perampanel-Induced Psychosis: A Case Report and Literature Review. (Pubmed Central) - Jul 9, 2024 This paper highlights the importance of pre-treatment counselling and monitoring for the emergence of psychiatric side effects including the rarely occurring psychosis while using perampanel, particularly in highly sensitive patients, e.g., those with intellectual disability. We also emphasize on the importance of accurate weighing of risks and benefits while managing psychosis as an adverse event to ASMs in the background of drug-resistant epilepsy.

Journal: Polypharmacy-Associated Tardive Dystonia Responding to Clozapine Optimization. (Pubmed Central) - Jul 8, 2024 Our findings complement recent clinical investigations using NKB receptor antagonists to lower LH in PCOS women and suggest that pharmacological dose-dependent modulation of kisspeptin neuron activity may be a valuable future therapeutic target to clinically treat hyperandrogenism and lower elevated LH in PCOS women. Journal: Rare presentation of Kl (Pubmed Central) - Jul 8, 2024 Numerous neurological conditions can cause KBS. Symptomatic treatment is the mainstream treatment currently for KBS.[3] While different differential diagnoses are present, neurologists, psychiatrists, neurosurgeons, and radiologists should collaborate and be vigilant for the diagnosis of KBS, especially with the presence of one of its etiologies.
- |||||||||| metamizole / Generic mfg., quetiapine / Generic mfg.
Journal: Discovering interactions in polypharmacy: Impact of metamizole on the metabolism of quetiapine. (Pubmed Central) - Jul 6, 2024 The combination of metamizole and quetiapine leads to significantly lower drug concentrations of quetiapine, probably via an induction of CYP3A4. Clinicians must consider the risk of adverse drug reactions, especially treatment failure under quetiapine when adding metamizole.
