Therefore, this review aims to fill the gap by exploring the synthesis and H2S donating capacities of various synthetic organopolysulfanes and their pharmacological benefits for cancer treatment. The insights provided here will help correlate synthetic organopolysulfanes as H2S donors with their therapeutic potentials, offering a clearer perspective on their roles in drug development.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  CSE/H2S Signaling Pathways in Enhancing Muscle Function and Insulin Sensitivity During Exercise. (Pubmed Central) -  Feb 26, 2025
Furthermore, the challenges and future directions in CSE/H2S research are addressed, emphasizing the need for further mechanistic studies and clinical applications. This review underscores the therapeutic potential of targeting the CSE/H2S pathway to optimize the benefits of exercise and improve metabolic health.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  H2S Donor SPRC Ameliorates Ischemic Stroke by Upregulating CD24. (Pubmed Central) -  Feb 15, 2025
CD24 could be a potential target of inhibiting neuroinflammation. SPRC reduces inflammation in ischemic stroke by regulating the CD24/I?-B?/NF-?B inflammatory signaling pathway and improves the migration ability of M2 microglia via CD24/Src/Fak/Pyk2 signaling pathway, which further alleviates the inflammatory response at the lesion.

Journal:  An Enhanced Osseointegration of Titanium Implants by H2S Sustained-Release Coating via Promoting Osteogenesis and Inhibiting Osteoclastogenesis. (Pubmed Central) -  Feb 12, 2025
The coating consists of bovine serum albumin nanoparticles encapsulating the H2S donor morpholin-4-ium(4-methoxyphenyl)-morpholin-4-ylsulfanylidenesulfido-?5-phosphane (GYY4137), which is prepared with the participation of dopamine self-polymerization...The coating restores the bone homeostasis imbalance surrounding the functionalized titanium implants in the femurs of osteoporotic rats, thereby accelerating new bone formation and enhancing the osseointegration capability of the implants. This work provides a practical strategy for the development of titanium implants suitable for osteoporosis patients.

Journal:  Mitigation of depleted uranium-induced mitochondrial damage by ethylmalonic encephalopathy 1 protein via modulation of hydrogen sulfide and glutathione pathways. (Pubmed Central) -  Feb 12, 2025
When the H2S donor sodium hydrosulfide and GSH precursor N-acetylcysteine were used to treat animals or cells, cellular ATP levels were increased, oxidative stress markers were reduced, and kidney damage was mitigated...These findings suggest that the ETHE1/H2S/GSH pathway plays a critical role in mediating DU-induced mitochondrial dysfunction in renal cells, highlighting potential therapeutic targets for mitigating the harmful effects of DU. Thus, this study expands our understanding of DU-induced renal damage pathways, providing avenues for further research and intervention strategies.

  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Delivery of small interfering RNA by hydrogen sulfide-releasing nanomotor for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. (Pubmed Central) -  Dec 21, 2024
PCM@siRNA that reached neuronal cells can not only be utilized to play the role of silencing the ?-syn gene to inhibit the formation of ?-syn aggregates by siRNA, but also to degrade the formed ?-syn aggregates by using the H2S produced by its chemotaxis process to achieve an effective treatment for PD. This therapeutic modality, which can simultaneously inhibit the formation of ?-syn aggregates and promote their degradation, has the therapeutic potential to reverse the pathological state of ?-syn, which is important for the treatment of PD.
