We found that SP6 and SP10 inhibited bacterial growth equivalent to povidone-iodine, and viability tests indicated that their effects were bacteriostatic. These results suggest that SP6 and SP10 have the potential to control oral bacterial infections such as Streptococcus mutans.

Overall, the expression pattern of the ZPBP2 and PGK2 may be useful in predicting sperm recovery success and quality of retrieved sperm in NOA patients.

The SP-10 antibody marks the acrosome in a way that enables researchers in the field to identify stages of spermatogenesis in the horse easily. In conclusion, we demonstrated that immunolabeling for SP-10 can be an objective approach to stage the cycle of the seminiferous epithelium in normospermic stallions; future studies will determine if SP-10 could be used to assess testicular dysfunction.

Surrounding these SNPs, we found some body shape-related candidate genes, including fabp1, acrv1, bcor, mstn, bambi, and neo1, which involved in lipid metabolism, TGF-β signaling, and BMP pathway and other important regulatory pathways. These results will be useful for the understanding of the genetic basis of body shape formation and helpful for body shape controlling of large yellow croaker by using marker-assisted selection.

Taken together, this study delineated a 50 bp enhancer of the Acrv1 gene for round spermatid-specific transcription and identified a putative cognate factor. The 50 bp Acrv1 enhancer could become useful for delivery of proteins into round spermatids.
