  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Molecular dynamics simulations of aqueous systems of inhibitor candidates for adenosine-5'-phosphosufate reductase. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 28, 2023
    RMSD, RDF, and hydrogen bonds results revelated that all ligands left the cube site, while in the active site, some ligands remained in their docking region, pointing to the enzyme active site as the best target for the selected ligands. The binding energy results of ligands hydroxamic acid (HXA) and catechol (CAT) showed that they bonded favorably to the enzyme and key residues of the active site contributed significantly to the protein-ligand bind, indicating HAX and CAT may compete with the substrate for interactions with these residues and displaying potential as candidates for experimental studies about APSrAB inhibitors.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Our findings show a novel EV-dependent mechanism for the rapid mobilization of neutrophils to peripheral blood from a splenic reserve and establish a proof of concept for functional manipulation of EV-communications through genetic alteration of parent cells.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  The role of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation on female fertility: A review. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 16, 2023
    Non-ionizing radiation also upsurges the free radical load in the uterus and ovary, which leads to inhibition of cell growth and DNA disruptions. In conclusion, non-ionizing electromagnetic radiations can cause alterations in both germ cells as well as in their nourishing environment and also affect other female reproductive parameters that might lead to infertility.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Degradation of rhodamine B by persulfate activated with green tea iron nanoparticles. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 16, 2023
    A possible RhB degradation pathway was the chromophore destruction and ring-opening processes using GT-Fe NPs/PS, which produced a range of low molecular weight carboxylic acids (oxalic acid, lactic acid, acetic acid, and formic acid). GT-Fe NPs seem to be a promising persulfate activator in comparison to common activators such as CA-Fe.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  A Central Role for Magnesium Homeostasis during Adaptation to Osmotic Stress. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 2, 2023
    These coordinated fluxes of K and Mg are orchestrated by cyclic-di-AMP, an essential second messenger in Firmicutes. These findings amend the conventional model for osmoadaptation and reveal that Mg limitation is the proximal cause of the bacteriostasis that precedes resumption of growth.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Inhibition of Protein N-Glycosylation Blocks SARS-CoV-2 Infection. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 2, 2023
    In this work, we show that interfering with either the synthesis or attachment of spike N-glycans significantly reduces the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infection in vitro, including that of several variants. As new SARS-CoV-2 variants, with various degrees of resistance against current vaccines, are likely to continue appearing, halting virus glycosylation using repurposed human drugs could result in a complementary strategy to reducing the spread of COVID-19 worldwide.
