Journal, PARP Biomarker, IO biomarker:  Harmine Hydrochloride Triggers G2/M Cell Cycle Arrest and Apoptosis in HCT116 Cells through ERK and PI3K/AKT/mTOR Signaling Pathways. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 21, 2022
Furthermore, HMH reduced the levels of p-ERK, p-PI3K, p-AKT, and p-mTOR in HCT116 cells, and significantly inhibited p-ERK and p-AKT expression in cells treated with of HMH and PD98059, an ERK inhibitor, or LY294002, an AKT inhibitor (P<0.05 and P<0.01). These results demonstrate the inhibi-tory effect of HMH on cell proliferation and migration through inducing apoptosis by inhibiting ERK and PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathways, indicating its potential therapeutic applications in CRC.
  • ||||||||||  Phillygenin attenuated kidney injury by repressing TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB and PI3K/Akt/GSK3β pathways in diabetic nephropathy (Poster Area (Virtual)) -  Jan 21, 2022 - Abstract #ISNWCN2022ISN_WCN_892;
These results demonstrate the inhibi-tory effect of HMH on cell proliferation and migration through inducing apoptosis by inhibiting ERK and PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathways, indicating its potential therapeutic applications in CRC. PHI alleviated diabetic kidney injury, inflammatory response, and HG-induced podocyte apoptosis via repressing TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB and PI3K/Akt/GSK3β pathways.

Review, Journal:  Early Progressing Follicular Lymphoma. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 20, 2022
Ongoing trials seek to identify the optimal management of these patients, and data from bispecific antibodies and CAR T cell therapies is forthcoming. With ongoing research efforts, hope remains that we are closer to being able to predict which patients will experience early progressing follicular lymphoma and have an improved management plan for those who do in order to improve survival outcomes.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  The probable role and therapeutic potential of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in SARS-CoV-2 induced coagulopathy. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 20, 2022
Also, in recent years the association between this pathway and coagulopathies has been well clarified. Therefore, based on the evidence on over-activity of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in SARS-CoV-2 infection, in the current review, the probable role of this cellular pathway as a therapeutic target for the prevention of coagulation complications in patients with COVID-19 is discussed.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  FGF20-FGFR1 signaling through MAPK and PI3K controls sensory progenitor differentiation in the organ of Corti. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 19, 2022
Therefore, based on the evidence on over-activity of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in SARS-CoV-2 infection, in the current review, the probable role of this cellular pathway as a therapeutic target for the prevention of coagulation complications in patients with COVID-19 is discussed. Together these data provide evidence that both MAPK and PI3K are important downstream mediators of FGF20-FGFR1 signaling during HC and SC differentiation.
  • ||||||||||  Clinical, Review, Journal, PARP Biomarker, IO biomarker:  Clinical implications of genomic alterations in metastatic prostate cancer. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 19, 2022
PI3K signaling pathway inhibitors are also in advanced clinical development and we report upon the potential for these and other novel targeted therapies to have impact in specific molecular subsets of metastatic prostate cancer. Finally, we discuss the growing use of blood-based analytes for prognostic and predictive biomarker development, and summarize ongoing prospective biomarker-driven clinical trials.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  Quercetin alleviates chronic renal failure by targeting the PI3k/Akt pathway. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 19, 2022
Taken together, Quercetin, a major component of SQJZJN, might minimize renal fibrosis and apoptosis in CRF rats by inhibiting the PI3k/Akt pathway through targeting PIK3R1. By regulating AQP1 and AQP2, both water retention and toxin accumulation were reduced.

Journal, IO biomarker:  Anlotinib Overcomes Multiple Drug Resistant Colorectal Cancer Cells via Inactivating PI3K/AKT Pathway. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 18, 2022
Taken together, our findings suggest that SOX2-OT regulates PAI-1-induced TNBC cell metastasis through miR-942-5p/PIK3CA signaling and illustrate the great potential of developing new SOX2-OT-targeting therapy for TNBC patients. Anlotinib inhibited the proliferation, migration, invasion and induced apoptosis of HCT-8/5-FU cells, and the mechanisms may be that anlotinib conquered multidrug resistance of colorectal cancer cells via inactivating of PI3K/AKT pathway.

Journal, IO biomarker:  Potentilla anserine L. polysaccharide inhibits cadmium-induced neurotoxicity by attenuating autophagy. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 18, 2022
Furthermore, the PI3K inhibitor (LY294002 or 3-MA) and/or PAP reversed the Cd-induced upregulated expression of LC3 II, Beclin-1, and PI3K class III, with a synergy between PI3K inhibitor and PAP against Cd-induced autophagy. The findings suggested that PAP partially prevented Cd-induced autophagic cell death in neurons by inhibiting the PI3K class III/Beclin-1 signaling pathway in vitro and in vivo.
  • ||||||||||  Review, Journal:  Targeting PI3K-AKT/mTOR signaling in the prevention of Autism. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 18, 2022
Therefore, inhibition of the PI3K-AKT/mTOR signaling pathway may have an effective therapeutic value for autism treatment. The current review also summarizes the involvement of PI3K-AKT/mTOR signaling pathway inhibitors in the treatment of autism and other neurodegenerative disorders.
  • ||||||||||  Preclinical, Journal:  Regulation of the PTEN/PI3K/AKT pathway in RCC using the active compounds of natural products in vitro. (Pubmed Central) -  Jan 18, 2022
Sophoricoside, aucubin, notoginsenoside R1 and ginsenoside Rg1 did not exhibit notable anti‑RCC activity, whereas the effect of ginsenoside Re and allicin on RCC was considerably weak. However, naringenin showed potent anti‑proliferative, apoptosis inducing and cell cycle arresting activity on RCC cells via regulation of the PTEN/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.
