    Furthermore, BEZ235 a dual inhibitor of PI3K and mTOR significantly decreased the adipocyte-mediated the proliferation and migration of breast cancer cells. Adipocyte-derived conditioned media enhance the proliferation and migration of breast cancer cells through the PI3K-AKT-mTOR pathway, supporting the importance of heterotypic interactions between breast cancer cells and adipocytes in the tumor microenvironment.

Integrin β1 can promote the migration and endothelial-like differentiation of ADSCs by activating PI3K/AKT pathway and then enhance the function of ADSCs in promoting wound healing.

    The Wnt/β-catenin pathway, which plays a central role in intestinal homeostasis and sporadic colorectal cancer development, is regulated by phosphorylation cascades that are dependent and independent of Wnt. Here we report that a non-canonical Ser phosphorylation in β-catenin, which promotes its nuclear accumulation and transcriptional activity, is blocked by metformin via AMPK-mediated PI3K/Akt signaling inhibition.

    Analysis of the mechanism indicated that PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway was involved in autophagy-mediated apoptosis upon NUPR1 knockdown. In summary, our results demonstrate that NUPR1 silencing suppresses autophagy activities and induces autophagy-mediated apoptosis in MM cells through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, which exhibits potential as a treatment strategy for MM.

    AZD8835 and AZD8186 inhibited Akt phosphorylation while AZD5363 augmented its phosphorylation on Ser473...AZD8835 and AZD5363 sensitized chemoresistant ovarian cancer cells to cisplatin and paclitaxel treatment...AZD compounds did not change the mRNA expression of BRCA1/BRCA in ovarian cancer cells, but AZD8835 inhibited BRCA1/BRCA2 mRNA expression and p-ERK protein expression in OVCAR-8 cells with the KRAS mutation. This study highlights the importance of PI3K/Akt in ovarian tumor progression and chemoresistance and the potential application of AZD compounds, especially AZD8835 and AZD5363, as therapeutic agents for the treatment of ovarian cancer.

    Mechanistically, LINC00152 was determined to be localized in the cytoplasm and acted as a microRNA (miR)-193b-3p sponge, and LINC00152 knockdown or miR-193b-3p mimics both inhibited PI3K signaling pathway activation and downstream AKT phosphorylation; therefore, promoting TSCC progression in vitro. Overall, the results of the present study suggested that increased LINC00152 expression in TSCC tissues may act as a sponge of miR-193b-3p to promote cancer progression in vitro.

Our findings revealed that Sema6c was involved in follicle development, and the suppression of SEMA6C led to cell junction defection by activating the PI3K/AKT pathway, which might also provide valuable information for understanding premature ovarian failure and ovarian aging.

    Finally, based on the finding that an NF-κB inhibitor decreased MIP-1α RNA/protein in LMP2A-positive cells, we are the first to demonstrate that LMP2A increases the nuclear localization of the NF-κB p65 subunit using DNA-binding assays and confocal microscopy in human B cells. These findings not only have implications for the treatment of HL, but also other LMP2A-expressing B-cell tumors that overexpress NF-κB.
