Journal: Effect of icaritin on proliferation and apoptosis of human ovarian cancer cells SKOV3 (Pubmed Central) - Mar 2, 2021 The protein expression of PI3K and p-Akt in icaritin groups were reduced(P<0.05). These results indicated that icarin may inhibit the proliferation of ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells in vitro, induce cell apoptosis and affect the cycle distribution of cells by inhibiting the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.
- |||||||||| Review, Journal: Marine compounds targeting the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in cancer therapy. (Pubmed Central) - Feb 27, 2021
The great potential of the development of marine drugs provides a new direction for cancer treatment. This review focuses on marine compounds that target the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway for the prevention and treatment of cancer and provides comprehensive information for those interested in research on marine drugs.
- |||||||||| Journal: PHLDA2 regulates EMT and autophagy in colorectal cancer via the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. (Pubmed Central) - Feb 26, 2021
The effects of PHLDA2 on autophagy and EMT were mediated in part via the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. Taken together, these results suggest that downregulation of PHLDA2 inhibits tumor growth and PI3K, thereby promoting autophagy and inhibiting EMT, in part through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR and PI3K/AKT/GSK-3β signaling pathways.
- |||||||||| Review, Journal: Inositol Polyphosphate-Based Compounds as Inhibitors of Phosphoinositide 3-Kinase-Dependent Signaling. (Pubmed Central) - Feb 26, 2021
This review summarizes previously published studies that led to the identification of inositol polyphosphates as promising parent molecules to design novel inhibitors of PI3K-dependent signals. We focus our attention on the inhibition of protein-membrane interactions mediated by binding of pleckstrin homology domains and phosphoinositides that we proposed 20 years ago as a novel therapeutic strategy.
- |||||||||| Journal: Lactate Lights up PI3K Inhibitor Resistance in Breast Cancer. (Pubmed Central) - Feb 26, 2021
In this issue of Cancer Cell, Ros et al. show the utility of noninvasive metabolic imaging of labeled carbon transfer from pyruvate to lactate to detect early response and FOXM1-mediated resistance to PI3K inhibition in estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer.
- |||||||||| Journal: Glycolysis fuels phosphoinositide 3-kinase signaling to bolster T cell immunity. (Pubmed Central) - Feb 26, 2021
Thus, nutrient metabolism and growth factor signaling are highly integrated processes, with glycolytic ATP serving as a rheostat to gauge PI3K-Akt-Foxo1 signaling in the control of T cell immunity. Such a bioenergetic mechanism for the regulation of signaling may explain the Warburg effect.
- |||||||||| Journal: A-kinase-interacting protein 1 promotes EMT and metastasis via PI3K/Akt/IKKβ pathway in cervical cancer. (Pubmed Central) - Feb 25, 2021
Our findings indicate that AKIP1 promotes the epithelial-mesenchymal transition and metastasis in CC by activating NF-κB signalling through the PI3K/Akt/IKKβ pathway, suggesting that AKIP1 is a pivotal regulator of an EMT axis in CC. AKIP1 could be implicated as a potential therapeutic target as well as a valuable biomarker for evaluating prognosis for patients with CC.
- |||||||||| Journal, IO biomarker: Tongmai Yangxin pill reduces myocardial no-reflow by regulating apoptosis and activating PI3K/Akt/eNOS pathway. (Pubmed Central) - Feb 25, 2021
All the data in this study revealed that miR-212 modulated PDCD4 to regulate cell proliferation, apoptosis through PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in Aβ-treated SH-SY5Y and IMR-32 cells, and this new regulatory network may provide a novel mechanism of AD. TMYX attenuates myocardial NR after ischemia and reperfusion by activating the PI3K/Akt/eNOS pathway and regulating apoptosis, further up-regulating NO activity and relaxing coronary microvessels.

[VIRTUAL] NOX-4 AND SELENIUM INFLUENCES IN THYROID PI3K SIGNALING IN THYROID CELLS. () - Feb 24, 2021 - Abstract #ICE2021ICE_540; 2-IHDA induced akt phosphorylation (1.8 fold, p<0.05), the PI3K inhibitor (LY294002) and Selenium reverted the inhibitory effect of 2-IHDA on NIS and GPx mRNA gene transcription... These results suggest that NOX4 and Selenium plays a critical role in Akt phosphorylation in FRTL-5 cells that influence NIS expression.

[VIRTUAL] PROLIFERATION AND SURVIVAL OF BREAST CANCER CELLS WERE ENHANCED BY A PESTICIDE, FENHEXAMID, VIA AN ESTROGEN RECEPTOR-DEPENDENT AND PI3K/AKT PATHWAYS () - Feb 24, 2021 - Abstract #ICE2021ICE_435; The cells were cultured with 0.1% DMSO (control), 17β-estradiol (E2; 1x10-9 M) and Fen (10- 5-10-7 M) in the absence or presence of ICI 182,780 (ICI, ER antagonist, 10-8 M) or Pictilisib (Pic, PI3K inhibitor, 10-7 M)... Taken together, these results indicate that Fen, a pesticide, may induce cancer progression by increasing cell viability and survival via an ER dependent and PI3K/AKT pathways.
