    Also, our study conceptualizes that balance between degradation and discharge of proteins in endothelial cells determines vascular information. Thus, the IFITM3/V-ATPase-tetraspanin-VCP/p97 complexes on endolysosome, as a protein quality control and inflammation-inhibitory machinery, could be beneficial for therapeutic intervention against vascular inflammation.
  • ||||||||||  Journal:  The role of proangiogenic cytokines in predicting sepsis in febrile neutropenic children with cancer. (Pubmed Central) -  Mar 29, 2024
    In conclusion, our findings demonstrate that macrophages are an important component of the perivascular environment in CM suggesting they may contribute to the CM formation and SWS disease progression. Our results reveal that Ang-2 and Ang-2/Ang-1 were higher in the sepsis group and Ang-2 might be a biomarker to indicate the risk of sepsis in patients with FN and/or cancer.

    Endothelial damage are associated with Covid-19 mortality in SOT recipients, as demonstrated in immunocompetent individuals, suggesting that immunosuppression does not significantly modulate endothelial dysfunction caused by the infection. Despite better endothelial function, KT was not associated with superior pulmonary functionality, suggesting multifactorial pathophysiology for lung impairment.
  • ||||||||||  CORRELATION OF KLOTHO PROTEIN, BIOMARKERS OF ENDOTHELIAL DAMAGE AND COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE (SUN-028; Exhibition Hall and Main Foyer) -  Mar 8, 2024 - Abstract #ISNWCN2024ISN_WCN_800;
    There was an inverse correlation between decreased Klotho levels and an increase in the endothelial damage marker VCAM-1 in moderate/severe CKD patients. Another relevant finding of this study was that reduced serum levels of Klotho are associated with worse results in different neurocognitive tests in patients with CKD without a previous clinical diagnosis of cerebrovascular disease, with worse results being seen in different cognitive domains such as memory, attention and executive functions.
  • ||||||||||  Synthetic disulfide derivative of vitamin B1, fursultiamine, prevents VEGF-induced angiogenesis (Section 6) -  Mar 5, 2024 - Abstract #AACR2024AACR_8568;
    Further, fursultiamine also regulated the VEGF-induced expression of various angiogenic markers such as VEGF, PDGF, EGF, Ang1, Ang2, angiogenin, and FGF, inflammatory markers such IL-1b, GM-CSF, TGF-b, MMPs, and others such as TIMPs, PTX3 and CF-III. Based on our in vitro data, we suggest that fursultiamine could prevent VEGF-induced angiogenesis, and this compound as a potent anti-angiogenic agent that could prevent cancer growth and metastasis.
