- |||||||||| Journal: Characterizing placental pericytes: Hypoxia and proangiogenic signalling. (Pubmed Central) - Sep 15, 2024
Hypoxic conditions altered placental pericyte, endothelial, and syncytialized BeWo secretion of angiogenic factors. We speculate that pericyte dropout and, by extension, the loss of pericyte-derived angiogenic factors in hypoxic conditions may contribute to compromised fetal vascular development observed in placental pathologies.

- |||||||||| Journal: Protein corona dynamicity contributes to biological destiny disparities of nanoparticles. (Pubmed Central) - Sep 2, 2024
Moreover, the differential evolution of the two exPCs during cellular internalization leads to distinct autophagy and glycolysis activities, which can be attributed to the altered depletion of angiopoietin 1 during the formation of intracellular protein coronas, which ultimately impacts the PI3K/AKT-mTOR signaling. These findings offer valuable insights into the dynamic characteristics of exPCs during cellular internalization, and their consequential implications for cellular internalization and intracellular metabolism activity, which may facilitate the comprehension of PCs on biological effects of NPs and expedite the design and application of biomedical nanoparticles.
- |||||||||| Preclinical, Journal: Platelet Angiopoietin-1 Protects Against Murine Models of Tumor Metastasis. (Pubmed Central) - Aug 21, 2024
Serum from Angpt1Plt KO mice increased endothelial permeability and reduced VE-cadherin expression at endothelial junctions compared with serum from control mice (Angpt1WT). Platelets provide an intravascular source of Angpt1 that restrains tumor metastasis by preserving the lung microvasculature to limit tumor cell extravasation.

Furthermore, activation of astrocytic Shh signaling reduces reactive astrogliosis, neuroinflammation, and increases the production of vascular protective factors, which alleviates BBB disruption in the damaged brain. These findings suggest that astrocytic Shh and Shh signaling protect BBB function in the damaged brain and that target drugs for Shh signaling are expected to be novel therapeutic drugs for acute brain injuries.

Conclusion(s) : The angiogenesis effect of electrohydraulic shock wave therapy plus enhanced sonoporation effect of shock wave therapy- induced by collapsed microbubbles, accompanied by angiogenesis effect of photobiomodulation therapy, can increase the angiogenesis effect of angiopoietin-1, which can cause VEGF, interleukin-8 (IL8), stromal cell-derived factor 1 (SDF1), and matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9) secretion in hypercholesterolemic rabbits. This can also cause the proliferation, differentiation, and recruitment of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs), resulting in revascularization in the ischemic myocardium and improvement cardiac function.
